Mounting Toilet Paper Roll Holder

I want to mount a toilet paper roll holder in the bathroom. The screws that came with the holder are 1 1/4. The walls are paper thin with not noticeable blocking inside the wall. Suggestions?

Wall anchors and smaller screws. May look to mounting inside vanity door, or find a freestanding holder(Walmart, Target. ect....).

Sure you will find something that will work for you

I got around that problem by using a free standing toilet paper holder. Has heavy base and doesn't move around.

We used an over the tank TP roll holder in the 21SS. Hooked it over the top of the cabinet door.

On one trip the roll bounced off of the holder and rolled around in the bathroom. After that we flipped it to the inside of the door when traveling. (Never came off again. . .)

My hooked some type to holder on the under sink cabinet door. Works ok. I suspect it will wear the finish on the door.

Mounted it to a pc of Lexan and used double sided tape on the shower enclosure. Has held for 4+ yrs.

It's amazing what a few dabs of "GOOP" will do. Just put a couple of dabs on the back of the roller and use the same short screws to mount it. After the GOOP dries, it ain't going anywhere AND you can peel it off later on if you decide to move it, but it will not fall off or pull off from normal use. I hate drilling holes in things as it seems I always need to move stuff. GOOP works great!

Mounted ours inside vanity door. Easy to reach and out of the way. Had to cut screws short enough so they didn't protrude through the door, but screws into the solid wood hold strong.

Recessed Holder

X2

Mounted recessed holder on vanity. Had to add a couple half inch blocks for the backing plate to tighten up. I try to post a couple photos.

I never wanted extra holes in the walls. I put a basket on the floor and that is adequate.

Inside vanity door.
Keeps it from getting wet and it's out of the way.

I have been using 2 way tape for many things. There is different weight loads for the 2 way tapes. I've used it on shelves with smooth back & walls.

How about which way to load the TP? Pull out from the bottom or the top?

Ann Landers or Dear Abby (don't remember which) had years of debate on this thorny issue.

I bought a higher-quality TP holder than was provided un-installed by Forest River/Rockwood from Lowes, and used shorter screws. It has worked great.

Also, I didn't install the cheap plastic paper towel holder that came with the camper, but found a great stainless-steel wall-mounted model (from Meijers) that has a clicking detent on the roll and prevents accidental paper towel unrolling while travelling or removing a towel one-handed.

I also use the free standing holder. In our other camper, I used one that stuck to the outside of the shower.
