My mind is playing games...battery disconnect question...

I fetched the Roo (2013 23ss) this evening from storage so that we could preload for our weekend trip.

I pulled the battery disconnect out and the fan at the breaker panel started blowing.

Am I crazy or is the fan supposed to turn off after a few seconds? The fan is still going - and I don't recall what it is supposed to do.

Anybody know?

Maybe I need some shuteye!!!

Are you plugged into shore power?

Sounds like the fan on the power convertor. If you have enough lights on and/or the battery needs charging then the fan runs to cool the convertor while it does it's job. Sounds normal at this point.

That makes perfect sense. I had three lights on and hadn't connected to shore power at that point. The battery was probably at around 70% I'd imagine.

Typically when I pull the battery disconnect I'd hear the fan for just a second or two.

Thank you so much!

I just sat down with my packet of manuals just in case.

INTERESTING....i too experience the same, just a few seconds of fan run...if it kept running I probably would be freaking out wondering what was broke! Nice to see the comments about inverter cooling while juicing a battery, I wouldn't have thought of that, THANKS for sharing!

Just to be clear, you have a converter not an inverter. At least I think you do. An inverter changes 12 votes to 110.

Just a quick follow up - everything worked out - and your tip was spot on.

I checked it out first thing this morning and the fan was silent.

Thanks again!
