New 233s plastic latch?

Really looked at a new 233s and the latch is plastic. That is the new mod?

apparently new on some 2013s and all 2014s. We found it fairly easy to open and close the doors on ours this past weekend with the new handles. As everyone else has said, we are concerned with how long they will last as they are made of plastic

Ours broke when the dealer was showing us how to close them. I liked the old style better, much stronger and they seemed to close the hatch tighter. We found out the new plastic system works better with two people. Closing one puts strain on the plastic so we close both at once.
