New camper questions

We had our first camping trip last weekend and I have a couple of questions.

1. I have 303 Product Wipe for protecting rubber. Should I use these once a month on all rubber seals around the camper? I want to make sure the seals stay in great shape.

2. The bunk latches feel like they put little pressure on the door. And the latches are made from what seems like a light weight plastic. Husband and I thought we were doing something wrong because it didn't feel like it was creating a great seal. Just wondering how long they have been using the new latches and has anyone had these break?

I apply 303 to our slide seals 3 times a year but our season is only 6 months.
