Did they ask what you're towing with? If you told them and they said your Escape can handle the 21SS I'd be more than a little ticked because it definitely won't. The 21SS is a great floorplan but as bikendan said, it's heavy. You'll likely have between 550 and 600# on the tongue.

My experience with McKenzie can only be based on the hectic Sales guy at the show. The Finance person was OK, but we haven't heard anything from them for about three weeks. There isn't much rush since we can't get to our seasonal until some of the snow disappears. Right now we are trading in the Sunridge unless we find a private buyer. We can't get it till mid May. I was going to call McKenzie this week to get an update.
The Sales guy at the show said I would need a 1500 Series vehicle. I was just confirming it with the real experts (all of you).

At minimum a 1/2 ton would be ideal and needed, small SUV's do not give you payload or towing capacity you need. I have an F150 with my Roo 23ikss and would not tow with anything less

Finally brought the IKSS home on Monday. The dealer closed at 5 and left it in the side street for ma, as requested. I installed the Andersen WDH and towed it home. About 10MPG - ugh. The kids have slept in it every night this week. I get over 50 stations on the TV antenna and the heater works well. I wish it had more than one outlet though. My wife mentioned the radio wiring issue at the walk through so they fixed that for us. Button 1 is inside and 2 is out side. So far so good and we are all excited for our first trip.

Welcome. We picked up our 2017 IKSS 3 weeks ago from Keystone RV Center. The camper is even nicer than we expected. The trailer turn signals were switched, which I didn't realize till I had already been on the road 50 miles (shame on me that I didn't check at the dealership) but everything else has been perfect. I've been over the trailer with a fine tooth comb and I am really impressed with the quality of construction.
I've scaled the rig and adjusted the "expertly installed" hitch and now it tows great behind my Suburban.

Glad to see that you are enjoying your new IKSS as much as we are! Regarding the heater, you should have 2 supply vents: one near the floor below the thermostat, and one in the bathroom under the shower. We camped the first night we picked it up, in low 20's weather, and the warm bath floor was appreciated.

How much different are the 2017's from the 2016's? Are there any differences at all?

Congrats on the iks! What a jump from pop up to that! You are going to love it! Enjoy and hope you get it soon! Ps I have a dinette and I love it, they are really cozy. Just my preference I guess.

The 2017s are exactly the same as the late 2016s with shower doors and relocated entertainment center. Seems like changes are often mid-year rather than the beginning of the new model year.

Thanks. The kids got me to sleep out there last night and I opened the bathroom door and it helped heat the camper better. I was also surprised how comfortable the mattress is.

The mattresses when plugged in five off a great amount of heat, but I am also dumb founded how FR only put two cents in the rear of the 23ikss that I have so in order to camp in cold weather I need some sort of space heater for the front which works out ok, especially if the ends are not extended. It is only the future wife and myself, kids are older so our 23ikss suits us perfectly

Yep just got the F350 and tested the Roo, 350 hardly knows the Roo is there but after this season and next I am going to a used Crusader so needed it anyway 😄
