New Roo 19

Our new Roo 19 is scheduled to be delivered to the Dealer, Bobby Combs RV Center in El Cajon, CA, on Monday. We scheduled our PDI for Saturday, March 5th. Assuming all goes well, we will be taking delivery that day. We are coming from a popup and are looking forward to the extra room. I have practically memorized the PDI checklist from this forum and my wife and I are prepared to take several hours inspecting and learning about everything. We are hoping to go on an overnight shakedown cruise in a week or two to a local park here in San Diego to test out everything and then we are planning on spending a few days up at Carpinteria State Beach over Spring Break. Aside from the checklist, is there anything else we should focus on during PDI?

Congratulations. Exciting stuff, isn't it. We were like you 2 years ago, coming from a pop up, inspecting this giant camper and learning all about the systems we didn't have before. Can be pretty intimidating.
Only thing I would add to the checklist is to video portions of the pdi that are confusing to you. For me the water pump, water heater and waste tanks were all new territory and somewhat confusing. I thought I would remember it all , but that turned out to be optimistic. Luckily some camping friends who had a full sized camper helped me through the stuff I forgot. Maybe you have someone you can lean on for advise. If not, ask questions here.
Anyway, congratulations again and good luck next weekend.

We liked the 21DK as well, but were concerned about the hitch weight with our Tacoma which is why we went with the 19.

That's good advice. I will make sure my phone is fully charged so I can video parts of the PDI. Thanks.

Congratulations with your new Roo! We purchased ours this past July and have really enjoyed it so far. During your PDI, see if you can look at the roof. Ours was not sealed completely on the front seam. Everything was good though. Happy camping!

My Roo 19 had water heater bypass valves like these. If you have them, be prepared to replace them. They are junk.

have fun. I also recommend checking the roof, and the bunk seals also have them season the tent ends.
