New Roo 23IKSS

Now that I have a new pickup I have pulled the trigger on a new 2015 23IKSS which I pick up in 2 weeks. We decided that the old layout was better for us and got a good deal on the 2015.

Nothing wrong with my Roo 19 other than we want to spend more time on the road and the extra space will be nice along with the couch. We still like sleeping under canvas and decided to go this route now instead of waiting to move into a 5er.

No time like the present! We hope to get out one time before it is too cold.

Great!!! Hope you like yours as much as we like ours. First mod....remove / bypass junk water filter. Don't wait like I did until the housing splits and dumps water all over your new floor.

Congratulations. We love ours. The inside storage is unbelievable. Don't know where the hot water tank is in the 19, but with your 231KSS the tank is right next to the bathroom - almost instant hot water.

The beauty of making this move almost everything from the Roo 19 will transfer to the Roo 23 IKSS! Now I have to just stop spending money on my truck!

I swapped out the ball on my hitch this weekend. It was an interesting circus act with me balancing on the breaker bar while my wife held the ball so it would not turn. No one got hurt and I think I am up to torque specs.

I can't believe how much bigger the ball is from my Roo 19. It is a little surprising that the 23IKSS uses a 2-5/16" ball rated for 12,000 lbs. when the max weight of the trailer is 6,500 lbs. The 2" ball was rated for 10,000 lbs.

I will be picking up the new 23IKSS on Saturday and I am really pumped! The only downside is that I had my Roo 19 pretty much set up with the mods I wanted and now I am starting over. At least I have a good idea of the mods I need to do and what it will take to get them done.

When you cut yours out did you use adjustable pipe clamps or did you get a pex crimping tool?

Use a sharkbite connector. Buy at most hardware stores. Plenty of flex left in line to use the connector. No need to buy additional tubing.
