New Tongue Jack recommendations

My tongue jack has stopped working on my year old 2015 23IKSS and of course I am out of warranty. What have you replaced yours with and are you happy with it?

Mine stopped also when getting ready to leave the house. Used the manual crank handle and all of a sudden it started working again! Not saying yours will do the same ( but give it a try). Also, it could always be the battery.

Check the fuses first. You may have a dedicated or inline. Cheaper to check.

If you need to replace it take a look at this Husky model. Works great for me. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o02_s01

X2

I have the same jack. Lots of members here recommend the Barker brand but this Husky jack is more than robust enough for your application and quite a bit less expensive. The only negative on the Husky - if it matters to you - is that the Husky is made in China while the Barker is made in the USA.

I did a bunch of searching for a buddies wife into electric jacks for their trailer as a Christmas present for him. My conclusion was the Husky 4500 was the best out there for the money. Actually, I've nearly talked myself into one for my dump trailer as the jack on it sucks.

I never even saw the Barker, because with these slow things, a drop leg is a must. The Husky has it. For just a hair under 1/2 the price of the Barker. They missed a HUGE feature there.

A feature on the Husky I like is the stop mechanism. Most electric jacks will run until they reach their limit, which you will know when you hear the jack rapidly slowing down and "binding" up. The Husky has a sensor that detects reaching the limit and instantly removes power.

I read somewhere (in an Amazon review, I think) that even though the lift has a water resistant plug on the top it's possible during heavy rain to have some water seepage into the jack. At home, I just put a bucket over the jack to keep it dry. I'm thinking about just sealing the plug with silicone stuff. Another advantage of the bucket method is it goes further in keeping the 7-way trailer to truck cord dry while it is secured in the included mounting bracket (which is a really good feature).

With the above suggestions, also check the battery for proper charge! I still have the original electric tongue jack on my TT. The first time it just stopped I thought it was broke / junk, however it was the battery.......second time too !

The Barkers get very good reviews, and as noted above the Husky brand is also liked on these boards.

The best electric tongue jack I ever had was the Odyssey 4000 lb by Ultra-Fab. This thing had amazing lifting power and I never had a problem with it. I am not sure what brand is on my Windjammer, but I'm afraid to lift my tongue as high as I could with the Odyssey. Here is a link to it at Camping World:
