No Damp Mattresses

We replaced the bed cores on both ends of our 23ss in June. For the first time since we have owned it (purchased in 2007) the bottom of our mattresses are not damp after camping. We would fold the mattresses in preparation for travel and the bottoms would be wet and damp. We thought condensation. Well, now that we have new bed cores and new seals we have not had that problem and we have camped in downpours, hot, humid, and cool and dry weather in the past two months.

What is a bed core? Was this a kit from Forest River to fix the leak problem?

The bed core is the whole door/bed assembly. We had to replace both the front and back beds. The bed areas started to de-laminate and become brittle. We could crawl over the beds on our hands and knees and feel the core material give way under our knees. The problem was caused by water and moisture, a result of the "leaking" issue. The new bed cores have the new field fix gaskets and design by Forest River. My son, wife and I did the replacement work ourselves. So far, so good. We have not travelled in rain yet, but have seen no evidence of leaking while camped.
