No More Rear Slides?

Just checked the Roo/Shamrock pages. Even though they are still listed under Light Weight Travel Trailers, and when you click on them, a 23RS picture is there, when you click on the Floor Plans, Neither the 23RS or 25RS show up.

Yep they are gone, but Outback still makes them.

could be a temporary deletion.
could be they are thinking of merging them into the regular Rockwood/Flagstaff travel trailer lines, instead of in the Roo/Shamrock lines.
or maybe they're changing the floorplans or adding another one.
or they could be dropping rear hard slide trailers.

I asked RVW if they could order one and they could not, IMO dollar for dollar the Outback is a better deal all day long anyway.

That would be disappointing, we love our Roo 25rs, went to the traler show acouple weeks ago and came out satisfied we have a great trailer after a year of owning it. Was always sold out when we went to buy one, didn't last long on the lot.

even Keystone(the best known manufacturer of this type of RV) cut back on the number of rear slide models. from a high of 8, now down to 5 under the Outback Terrain line.
the Outback is basically the only manufacturer, i know of, that makes more than a couple of these kind of trailers.

Seems so odd to me as for us it is the perfect way to go, I hope to get a 250TRS in the next few years.

We picked up a nice used 21RS to try and see how it goes and how my wife likes towing it before going new or bigger but I have zero interest in getting a regular TT, RS ftw.

The first RV I looked at was the Spree 245ks made by KZ. I then saw the Roo 25RS, but never in person. I was tempted to order the Roo 25RS, but we really liked the Roo 23ss and/or Roo 233S. Given we are only a family of three plus the doggie, we went with the 23ss - one less hole in the wall .

I'm surprised, but not shocked that the model has been discontinued. I guess they weren't selling?!?

If that is the case, I may have to go to Keystone when the time comes. We will see. Maybe we will stay with the hybrid.

Also, Jayco still makes their Rear Slide.

Well this is a surprise, atleast to me...

The very first thing we looked at when we were upgrading from a tent trailer to a full travel trailer was to find the floor plan we wanted. We looked at all kinds, and settled on the rear slide models because it had everything we wanted, and saved us 4 feet of towing length.

I would've thought they were popular! Guess it shows how much I know!

for what ever reason, rear hard slides have not been big sellers.
only Outback carries more than one or two floorplans of this type of trailer.

for Outback to cut down the number of models they offer, says something.

I hate to be the bearer of further bad news but the Outback rear slide models have all been discontinued (210RS, 230RS, 250RS). They are no longer listed on the official Keystone Outback website in floorplans offered and there is a notice on a couple of dealers websites that these floorplans have been discontinued. Existing stock on a dealers lot are the last new rear slides available.

They are Terrain TRS now.

The dealer here had 2 210TRS and 2 250TRS and they did not last long.

Pfew! Glad to know they are still being made. Great info. Thank you. That day may come when I want an expandable rather than the hybrid I currently have.

It'll be interesting to see if Rockwood is dropping or merely changing their Roo rear slide models. Maybe, as mentioned, they'll reappear in a different line.

I see that, while the RS models no longer show up on the web page, the Roo web page still has a picture of an RS at the top of their page. But then again, maybe their Web designers are too busy watching Olympic hockey!

I would love to be able to get an RS model Next year, with the new Ram 1500 Diesel. I think that would make a nice combination.

I wonder how long the manufacturers will support the RS models with spare parts. Having just bought a 2009 21RS Roo, this is somewhat concerning to me.

Do you know of any RV salvage outfits in your area?
