Our country!

We just got back an hour ago. Man our country is beautiful! I've never be further west than St. Louis and never knew what the pains states were like! New Mexico blew us away, the landscape changed multiple times, just beautiful! We saw aliens in Roswell too. :-P. The Roo and Suburban held up nicely except the hot water heater fiasco, and I had to adjust the WDH.

That's a trip we want to take, but don't feel comfortable doing so until we get a newer vehicle. How long was the drive...and what was a comfortable average speed you kept with the suburban?

It was long, Michigan to Lubbock was 24 hours at 60-70 MPH depending on if we had a tail wind. We were running between 2000-2800 RPM's.

Yep, know what you mean about a beautiful country. Took a trip in 2003 from MD out to the west coast and back - almost 4 full weeks - in a '96 S10 Blazer and a good sized pop-up. Only problem was an alternator went out going across the Mojave in 110 degree heat. But, I made it to Vegas and got it fixed.
The kind of trips memories are made of.
