Outside shelf

Hi. I purchased a used Rockwood Roo Hybrid and there is a strip on the outside next to the door where a shelf/table should connect for the BBQ. This did not come with the camper as purchased. Wondering if anyone knows where to buy this shelf or have any ideas on what to put there?

I have a Rockwood with the same setup. I have the grill and the table. The grill I have been able to find online for you. But, I haven't seen the table online.

Mine did come with one. I'd say FR can get it for you. email customer service. As to what I put on it... cooking condiments and it holds a beer very well!

You should be able to have a Roo or Shamrock dealer order one for you. We ordered an extra one for our ikss.

I ordered an extra one for my ikss, there are 2 mounting brackets on trailer but it only comes with one shelf
Ordered it from the local dealer, wasn't cheap $65 for the shelf including shipping
Just wondering if anyone ordered it direct from forest river if it was any cheaper that way?

Where is your second mounting bracket? I only have one.

I ordered one at Camping World. They ordered it from Forest River. It cost me $45. I thought it was a little pricey for a small black shelf.

Does anyone actually use that grill? Seems a bit close to the camper for my taste. I have seen some grills do damage to houses being that close.

I put mine in storage because I have the same concerns as you and I really like my Weber Q.

We use that grill a lot but stand it on a foldable aluminum table a few feet from the trailer. Because it is gas you don't have the dangerous flame up you get from a charcoal grill when you first light the charcoal.

I was able to talk the dealer into a 3 burner suburban stove instead of the RVQ when I got my new TT this spring. My buddy has a 2 burner suburban stove which may be the better setup.(Easier to find something to store it in). My Weber Q was converted to run off the bulk system and I too set it up on a inexpensive wallyworld table for the same reasons

The grill attached to camper works just fine. Attached it is a little bouncy. Make sure to zip up tent ends. Just attach gas line and good to go!

On our 2015 IKSS, there is one bracket between the door and the kitchen slide and another bracket between the kitchen slide and the back bumper.
I like the idea of getting a second shelf. I move our one shelf between the two locations all the time.

I use it all the time. At first I hated it but now that I've gotten use to its quirks I'm glad we have it. I use it attached to the swinging arm on the back bumper. It is plenty far from the camper while cooking and when I'm done I can swing it under the back bunk to keep it out of the rain and sun.

There is a mounting bracket by the door and a second one beside the kitchen slide out. The BBQ mounts to the bracket that's on the bumper, this keeps it far enough away from the trailer. There is a propane hose at the back of the trailer to attach to BBQ so you don't have to haul around extra propane bottles. I put a T on the gasoline to hook up my camp chef stove as well. This setup works very good for us. I can post a picture when I'm back at campsite.

When I bought my last two campers I made them give me a credit for the grills as I did not want them. Looks like accident waiting to happen. Poor planning. You can bet someone out there has already burned the side of there camper. Later RJD

I use the grill like crazy. I suction cup ecofoil/reflectix behind it and it has never even been warm to the touch.

Definitely get the shelf...it is pretty handy!

Rvq grill is just ok. Not in the same league as a weber. Not near in the same price bracket either. Actually cooks ok once you figure out the hot spots. And the swing arm mounting keeps it plenty far away from the camper.

We've been using ours for the entire 9 years we've owned our Roo.
I've been on various RV forums for over 12 years and have NEVER seen any post or thread about a fire or damage caused by these grills.

If they caused damage or fires, I guarantee that RV manufacturers would have discontinued them, over the past 20 or so years they've been used.
