Yup. Same here. My wife wants me to swap the OEM holder with the new one because she is 5'7" and finds it too high for her but for me at 6'6" the OEM is a perfect height. Since I do the mods, it is staying as is for now. Hope she doesn't read this post...

Just installed mine, 2016 23IKSS, and it fit fine in original holder. Put the on/off regulator down at the knobs.

Improved water flow

My lovely wife complained for 6 months about water flow so I got the oxygenics head and it was a bit better. Then I discovered the flow restrictor located in the connection between the hot/cold faucet handles. Just unscrew the shower head hose and dig out the little restrictor. YES... you will use more water but if you control the flow with the on/off button between soaping up and rinsing off you will be fine. Flow close to what you have at home, truly makes showering a pleasant experience with good water flow. It may take you a couple of times to learn how to not run out of hot water but worth it.

Why don't you just use the mount from the old shower unit? That's what we did and it works just fine.

To everyone that was able to use your original holder, you are all a bunch of SHOWOFFS! I do not have the luck of the Irish nor do I claim to be as handy as a pocket on a shirt. I got the new holder up, the original holes are being used or sealed and it seems to be firmly in place for the long term. I thank all who has given me insight in this project, and I may take a shower out there tonight. Just because I can!

This ^^^

I did not replace the shower head holder, just the hose and shower head itself.
