DH and I tipped our PDI guy *well* with both the units we've bought...same dealer, different PDI guy.

Once when we had to take our V-Lite in for warranty and missed closing time due to a bad wreck on the interstate, the dealer arranged to have their security guy, who lives on the lot, unlock the gates for us so we could leave the unit. That guy was awesome; met us at the gate, escorted us to the spot to leave it, and then jumped off his golf cart and started helping with the unhooking.

Tipped him *well* also. He didn't speak English (or so he claimed) until DH explained the tip was for beer, LOL, he smiled really big and accepted it quickly!

Beer seems to be a word understood by all nationalities!

P.S. We <3 our dealer!

If age is a state of mind, and I've lost my mind, I'm AGELESS, right?
Give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around:
Flagstaff 5er 2014 8528 IKWS, Platinum Package, Regency Interior "Buffy"
F250 Super Duty 2013 Tuxedo Black "Biff"

I looked up your unit. Actually I think it was parked right next to our Roo. They were working on it when we were there.
Hope all went well. Sounds like your off to a better start w/ them calling to verify time.

Yes, indeed, I was parked right next to you . They did move you to the other side of me on Saturday. They moved some other 5th wheel into the spot you had. I did talk with both Chris and my demo person Kirk. They both remembered your situation well (also how I knew your roo next to mine was really yours). There was a snafu with the keys, which they claimed was resolved now.

Talking with Kirk, there really seem to be some communication issues between the Internet (RV Direct) side of the house and the dealership. There appear to be two different calendars ? I was a bit confused by this, but was really left with the impression that it was their mistake and NOT yours. There was some mention that someone had expressed to them a couple of days before your arrival that your camper needed to be gotten ready for Wednesday, but when they went and looked at their calendar, it was scheduled on theirs for April 26th so they didn't worry about it. They really do seem quite busy now. They have about 5 or 6 demos a day this week and next. The people doing the prep work on the campers are the same ones that do the demos. I really do think they now know yours is next week and will be ready...

As far as my demo went, it was almost flawless. I'm sure I was a bit overwhelmed and missed something, but.. My PDI was Friday, but I had actually planned that there might be some problems, so I actually booked my hotel room through Saturday. Also, had a lot of stuff to load and 1 car trip wouldn't have done it. We actually stayed about 15 miles south in a Ramada Inn next to I4 (very conveinent locally and easy on off access form I4 to dealership). We actually came back to the hotel on Friday and then went back up Saturday. Spent some more time going over things, then ended up waiting out a few tornado warnings and didn't get out of there till about 4:00.

I will mention that one of my only complaints about RV Direct was that they seemed try and keep a wall between the customer and the dealership. Once I knew that my camper was out of the factory, I knew where it was going and tried to contact the dealership myself and was never really able too. Again, I think that if you had more direct communication with the dealership and NOT just the Internet side, it might have prevented your two hour drive down for not.. I did mention to Kirk and Chris this would be about the only negative I was going to mention in my review..

We ended up coming down to Kississmee and staying at the Tropical Palms Resort, where I really did see the lack of functionality of a 10 foot sewer hose that came with the starter kit. I was actually warned by Kirk that this was a cheap hose and I would probably want to replace it. He was right. That will one of the first things on my list today. My grey water is full and I will need to move about 15 feet forward to actually use the sewer connection. I will do this just before I leave. I didn't do this before as there was a bit puddle in front as well as would have left the camper not too level.

Also, I would have probably responded earlier, but was having Internet issues...

Hope everything goes well for you next Thursday. I think it should. Just hope you don't get any potential tornado weather

rhroll24-Glad your PDI went well and you only dealt w/ tornado warnings and not an actual tornado. You will love your camper. My husband was joking when we were there that will be our next camper.
Can't wait for Thursday. Fingers crossed all is well.
