Smile Periodic sound of water running

We have a 2012 23ss ROO. While parked outside of our home, plugged in, we hear every 5 min or so the sound of water cycling from the area of the water heater, water pump, water filtration. We do not have the water pump nor water heater turned on at this time. Very little to no water in fresh water tank at this time. We did hook up to city water and tested water pump and water heater a few days ago. What makes this water cycle come on? Is it causing any damage to water pump or water heater with no water being pumped from fresh water tank? Any thoughts on this?

If u are hooked up to city water the water should not be cycling. Even when using the tank the water pump should only cycle when water is being used.

You say you can hear water cycling....but your water pump is turned off...so you just hear water flowing? Not the actual water pump? You say you connected to city water...are you still connected? If so, and your pump is off as it should be if connected to city water, and you hear water flowing, then it has to be coming out somewhere. Do you have one of the onboard water filters? If so, check it asap, as it may be leaking in your trailer. Are you sure all taps are off, including outside shower if you have one. The amount of water in your holding tank is irrelevant if your water pump is shut off.

Must be a puddle somewhere. Find that and look up.

Shouldn't be....OP stated that water heater is shut off....faulty relief valve may do that for a bit while water is hot, but after it has cooled that would stop....I agree with Vern....must be a puddle somewhere...inside or out.

OP has not replied yet as to whether or not they are still hooked up to city water.

I agree, just a shot in the dark on the relief valve.

My vote is for a miswired switch to your water pump. Disconnect your battery and shore power and I would bet a shiny penny that your noise stops.

Is it possible the valve at the pump is bad and letting water from the city hookup fill your fresh water tank?
