pics of 2013 Roo canvas attachment system

since there has been numerous posting of issues with the new Roo/Shamrock tent end attachment design, i decided to check it out for myself, since my Roo is the older bungee/snap attachment system.
i wanted to see for myself what it looked like and how it worked.
here's pics i took:

this is a pic of the normally open area where the rubber flap is, over the hinge. the new design has the tent material completely over it. it a one-piece setup so the tent is one complete unit.

this is closeup of the new hinge design, which is completely under the tent material, so there's no way for water from the hinge to get in.

this is a closeup of how the outside looks, where the sides fold under the inside brackets. you can also see how the corner is siliconed.

this is how the corners are siliconed to prevent water intrusion.

so, after looking closely at this new system, i'm impressed with it.

Sloppy silicone job, but the new design seems more water tight. Jayco has a fully attached system I wonder what their setup looks like?

Keystone (Passport brand) also has a permanently attached tenting on their hybrids but they are combined with flaps that go down over the edges of the bed doors. I don't recall what it looked like under the flaps but its a more tradition look and you don't see any blobs of silicone like on the new Roos. It may be the same but just hidden under the flaps. Other than the silicone at all 4 corners of each bunk, the Roo's bed ends look nice and clean.

We have a 2013 Roo and it works great. This design works so well for us I'm fact, when I broke a latch on one of the bunks the bed would not seal completely because there was nothing to hold it shut. Well it took two very rainy days for Albany RV to come fix it. The end filled with water and when I opened it I was soaked. However, the inside of the camper was dry as a bone.
