Pictures on the TV screen?

Does anyone know how to play pictures from a camera or a disk of photos through the TV?

Have tried both using the DVD player and/or connecting the camera to the USB port, but cannot get it to show on the screen.

Camera has an output to TV, but I am just too inexperianced to figure out how. It works on the home TV!

Would love to show new friends other camping pictures so that they get a feel for other campgrounds.

It's a Genesis GT 2.0 Stereo and a Cannon Powershot SX30IS.

The camera holds a microchip which when inserted into the stereo will also NOT play the pictures.

So tht's three different ways that I have tried....Disc/Microchip/Direct line.

What is the model of your TV? Some have a memory card jack, some have a USB and some have HDMI.

Here is a link to your camera's manual, look at page 127...

Important!

There is a size and format limit on the USB and SD chip ports for showing photos, videos or music (MP3). The chip/USB stick format MUST be in FAT32 or FAT (NOT Windows NTFS or other proprietary operating system like some cameras have). Also some sound systems have a 500 meg limit others have an 8 GIG limit on chip size.

Try a small size SD chip or memory stick.

X2... There may be a RCA, USB or HDMI jacks on the side or the back of your TV to hook to. The HDMI will need a special cable that did not come with your camera.

F1100turbo....Tried that...it tells me that there is no USB device connected. bull!

Road King...have both memory card slot and USB. Neither works when I plun in the selected items.

f1100 turbo...found USB on TV and plugged in. NADA!

Herk7769....chip is an 8GB. Don't know anything else about it.

Thanks all for your thoughts...have any of you actually played pictures from a camera or chip? Some one must use this feature, or they wouldn't have installed it.

I think we must have a similar setup. After seeing your post, I thought I'd give it a try since we hadn't tried that function yet on the new TT.

I have the Genesis 2 console and a Konika TV that was factory installed.

Looking on the back of the TV...there are only two inputs plugged in. One is the Cable TV coax cable plugged into the Cable input, the other is a yellow cable plugged into the AV input.

On the OUTPUT there is Audio Red/White adapter on the TV OUTPUT - I assume this is so you can play the audio from the TV through the Genesis/RV stereo speakers.

Here's what I did to play the slide show. I was using a SD card from my camera that I took out of the camera and inserted into the Genesis.

1) Turn on the Genesis console
2) Turn on the TV
3) Insert the SD card into the SD slot - it sort of 'clicked' into place and immediately, the Genesis system recognized the card and the word "CARD" appeared on the display. It then started auto-playing through the images on the SD card, which I could tell as it showed the file name/number on the Genesis screen.
4) Using the TV remote, switched the TV Input to "AV"
5) Saw nothing... hmmmm checked the back of the TV and reseated the yellow plug in the "AV" input on the TV. It just wasn't plugged in really well.
6) Sat back and watched the slide show.

Hope this helps!! Depending on your setup, your mileage may vary...

8Gig is TOO BIG for my ZX-700. 500 megs MAX

You must have a Genesis 3.0 to use the 8 Gig chip.

Arlee453....CONGRATULATIONS!...you win a cookie!

I plugged in the SD card as you suggested (and I had done before). I put the TV on AV (actually "video" on my unit) and NOTHING!

Then I unplugged the yellow AV cord from the back (either end works...TV or wall end) and it started to play. Really takes a long time to get the pictures from one to the next using the 1-0 and 10+ keypad, but it WORKS!

I don't understand WHY, but you must unplug a re-plug that yellow cord to get it to work.

I owe you a cookie!

THANKS!

Glad that worked! My cord was just not plugged in well, so I wonder if it just jiggled loose between the factory and the various trips we've taken so far. It is a plug that hangs down, so between road vibration and gravity I can see how it might work its way loose. The cable TV input is in the same location on the TV, but since it has a threaded coax end, it stays put.

So both of us learned something today

On my really old 2011 Shamrock, the Concertone ZX-75, the model installed in it, only allows SD cards up to 2 GB to be read. All my SD cards are 4, 8 or 16GB...

If you're hard set on looking at pics on your TV, your best bet: connect the camera to an available port on your television: either composite (yellow video cable, with red & white for audio, ships with camera) not the best quality or invest in an HDMI cable if yours support it ($20 or so).

I my case, I transfer them to my iPad and watch the pics on it.
