Pilot light
Just lite the oven pilot light for the first time. This sounds silly but do I leave it on the entire time we are camping? Seldom used our old oven and only lite the pilot when needed.

I'd turn it off except when using the oven. No reason to waste propane.

Agree. If you "Seldom" use it, why have it on? No need. When you "Seldom" use it, light it.

I would agree, but I will also interject that there is hopefully a special circle of hell for the guy who designed the gas train on these ovens. You need 3 hands to light them, and a chiropractor to straighten out your back and neck after you are done.

If I am not mistaken, turning off the oven also turns off the pilot light.

Ours goes all the way off. I don't trust the toddlers around anything with a pilot light.

In my case the pilot shuts off when the oven is turned off and has to be lit each time. A pain in the neck (literally) but a nice safety feature.
