Pink stuff dripping from drains

I noticed on all the new campers at the dealership and our new camper had some pink stuff dripping from the faucet in the campers. Anyone know what this is?
Is it anti-freeze? Dealer didn't say anything about flushing our new camper so I want to make sure it safe to cook and drink the water coming from the camper.

Most likely it's residual antifreeze. Fairly common to see. Just flush with clean water until it's clear. If using the fresh tank for drinking, sanitize it and flush again.

Yeah its anti freeze. You'll have to dewinterize it first before using the water. We had to do it after we picked ours up.

If you do not contact your dealer to de-winterize, make SURE you follow the checklist in your packet.

There are also great checklists in our FAQ section under winterizing.

Just remember to never drain your hot water heater through the plumbing's low point drains. It will suck crud into your cold water pipes.

I had not thought of this. I take it the "crud" you're talking about comes from inside the HWH itself? I always drain my HWH by removing the anode rod--that way, any crud built up in there will come gushing out.

That is the correct way. Using the low point drains and opening the pressure relief (or a faucet) will allow bits of anode and/or calcium nodules from hard water to enter your cold water pipes (bottom inlet to tank).

These bits could then sweep into your faucets clogging valves/aerators and worst case clog your toilet flush valve.

Thanks everyone!!! Wish the dealership would of told us this. The water coming out of the camper is cloudy so we haven't used if for cooking/drinking.
I will download the checklist and de-winterize the system. Something we have never had to do in Florida. LOL.

It will be cloudy sometimes like a little foamy, just flush until clear in all lines. Your unit must have been built during the cold months up north.
