Something a fellow camper reminded me of is that no matter it's a gas oven & heats up quickly, you still need to preheat the oven just like at home. It took me many years of burned biscuit bottoms to figure this out. Once I started pre-heating, my burned biscuit bottom issue disappeared. Now, our MH has a convection oven and no problems with burning at all.

This is another beef I have with the RV industry. The technology for most appliances used in these units including HVAC has not changed for the the past 30 years. Having to stand on your head to light the oven pilot is ridiculous in this day and age. I have said many times that this industry reminds me of the US auto manufacturers in the 60s and 70s. Then they wondered why they lost $ zillions to foreign competitors who were able to sell quality and innovation.

I measured the inside dimensions of our oven before shopping for ours. I found a round one that fit (13 in diamerter, the inside dimensions were 13x15. we have another camper now with a bigger oven but brought the pizza stone with us to use in the new one. it fixed our problems in the other camper. haven't used it as yet in the new one

I always preheated and never had a problem with the ovens until our lat TT, and even preheating didn't help. that one was an atwood. (the only atwood oven we ever had too) all our other campers (we've had several) were suburban ovens and had a way of adjusting the temps on them. the Atwood did not. no matter what we baked in there (biscuits, corn bread, casseroles no matter) the bottoms always burned but the middles and tops were raw. the pizza stone fixed that

My pizza stone cracked too. I wrapped the two pieces together with aluminum foil and soon discovered that a foil wrapped pizza stone gave me the best RV oven cooking/baking. I no longer burn food, everything cooks evenly, and sometimes I even have to turn up the temperature. As an added bonus, I can easily clean up any spills by replacing the foil.

Just make sure that you don't block the vent holes on the sides of the oven floor. That's critical.

I use an air bake cookie sheet instead of a pizza plate. Make sure you don't cover the holes.

Instead of pizza in the oven try pizza on the grill . You can make smaller one and everyone can put on whatever toppings they want . Cook one side of the dough and turn it over and put on the toppings and with the cover closed cook until the cheese has melted .😃

I don't put my stone on the oven floor, but above the heating element. Below the adjustable wire rack

When using the air bake pans do you have the pizza stone as well or are you just using the air bake sheets for baking?

Leave the stone there always. I myself have gotten four 5 inch unglazed tiles from The Home Depot. I butt them up to each other on the floor of the overn.....not under the burner, but the floor above the burner. Make sure you don't block the vent holes along th sides. They're there to prevent super hot spots that screw up the bottoms of what you're baking.

We have not been able to get a pizza stone yet, so this is what we have done to compensate - flip biscuits and baked items over half way through cooking, or place slightly crumpled aluminum foil on the bottom of the cooking sheet and put your baked goods on top. The air and insulation prevent burning.

I bought a 12 inch unglazed slate tile. Baked crescents last week and did good until I put them under the broiler and almost burned them. Have not cooked with gas in over 40 years

we looked for the unglazed tiles before buying the pizza stone, but no one here had them at the time, but I have heard that they work just as well
