[Poll] Leave Awning in or out while camping?

While at a campsite for a weekend, do your leave your owning extended the entire time or do you only extend it when you are using it?

I have a 23ikss, with the power awning on it. I have read many posts where people have had them damaged by high wind and such... Since I am just starting out, I do not want to get it damaged, but at the camp ground last weekend, even with a major storm coming in on Friday evening, most people just had them out and left out. I am just looking to see if I am being too cautious.

Only out when it is needed. I hae RGB LEDS under the awning at the side of the camper and used TURBS most excellent awning remote control idea. So there is no reason to leave it out and risk a wind storm.

Even WITH (OC Poles) You MUST use Common Sense! As stated by you (Major Storm) leaves little to think about! Youroo!! If our Elect.Awning is out our (POLES) are installed!

Out, unless the winds are getting or supposed to get above around 30mph, depending on shelter from the wind of course. Seldom do we go without the awning. We really like the shelter from dew and rain as we keep a table and kids stuff near the steps

Our seasonal site gets extended May 15th and returned Oct 15th. This is the non motorized version with a RV Rafter in the middle of the tube, center strut leg. Both end arms are lagged into the deck with appropriate mounts.

On our 5er it is out when we need it, in if it gets too windy.

We leave ours out, but we also have a set of O.C.'s awning poles. Camping at shipshewana last year we got caught in a nasty storm. Fortunately we were using the awning poles and didn't have any issues. There were 4 awnings destroyed in the campground that day.
The awning poles for the power awnings rank right up there on the list of mod's IMO.

Youroo is right, common sense should prevail!
