Worthy of a Stickey?

What do you think Bikendan, perhaps we could get the owners honest input, moderated by users on this board?

The topic of PUGS/Reflectix comes up frequently enough.

Ok so the pugs now come with Velcro and now I'm looking into putting a strip of Velcro above the tent...anyone do it and got any suggestions?...use the adhesive it comes with...glue maybe? And does the Velcro interfere at all with the tent material when closing?...it should be applied right over the tent on the aluminum? (I think it's aluminum up there)Click image for larger version

I could not get the velcro adhesive to permanently stick to the bunk opening, and i purchased what supposedly had the premium adhesive. It would pucker, come loose at the ends, and sometimes pull off when you removed the pug. I just don't think it could take the summer heat when closed. My final solution was to gorilla glue it down. If you go that route use it very sparingly because it expands as it cures. Hasn't come loose again yet.

We bought the industrial velcro that was peel and stick. Yes, stuck it to the metal strip you describe and so far have not had an issue. We leave the pugs attached when we close up the beds. We remove them when we winterized.

I got a set of pugs a few weeks back but they've been sitting in a box until last night. I ran up to the hardware store to pick up Velcro. They had the peel and stick industrial strength, and a peel and stick "extreme outdoor" roll of Velcro. The working temps were higher on the extreme outdoor so I picked that up thinking it might do better in the heat. I also picked up a bottle of gorilla glue to stick in the camper in case it fails. I put it up last night, installed the pugs and im going to let the camper sit open in the sun for a few days. We're supposed to get some 90º+ weather coming, so we'll see how it does.
