Anyone know how long it took to ship after placing order? Possibly going to order a set for our 233s, but we're going camping on 7/2.

When we had a hybrid, I used a system with stainless steel S hooks and tie down cleats. Very easy on/off, I could reach it better, and it stayed on in windy situations.

New 23ikss owner. Had no problem installing the PUGs very first time.

Measured at home and marked which is which with a black sharpie. The front bunk is larger due to the rake of the front. I now keep each above it's respective bunk.

Brought a small folding ladder with me. Could not have reached top bunk without it.

Clipped each top using two clips per side to the tent seam. There are no gutters on newer Roo's, and besides it is easier to reach the seam. The PUGs are insulation and not rain proofing. Don,t worry if there is a 1/2 inch gap at the very top.

Gathered the bungees below and linked with two carabiners per bunk.

So in addition to what comes with the PUGs, get yourself a small ladder and some carabiners.

I also bought some harbor freight tarp clamps which I did not use but may try next time instead of the scissor clamps that come with the PUGs. Btw did not put on first night as I needed to wet the bunks to season them. Went on the second night and made a big difference in AC load and sleeping in as the sun came up. I consider them a must have.

MOD Guy - great idea!

Strangebrew - mine arrived in < 1 week. Worth calling the support line though to talk to Bob (I think that's his name) and I'm sure he'd be happy to expedite the shipping if he has your PUG size in stock. He was prepared to overnight me a set at the time I thought I had the wrong sizes and had a trip coming up (turned out I was putting the short PUG on the wrong side lol)

i guess you should also tell all the other manufacturers of hybrids and popup that they are silly too, for not coming up with something like this.

i think if popup and hybrid manufacturers felt it was worth the cost of R&D to integrate something like this, they would IF they could make a profit on it.

What he said!

I would have paid up if FR offered an option that incorporated the concept into the factory tenting - both for looks and convienience. If extreme temps, they really are amazing, but I hate clipping a bunch of tin foil all over a brand new camper.

While I don't like the look, the benefits outweigh the cosmetics.

We knew what we were getting in to purchasing a hybrid and camping down here in Texas. The spring and fall days are very comfortable and allows for an extended camping season (few below freezing days here), but that Texas heat requires us to wrap the Roo in foil .
