Pop Up Gizmos

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on buying some covers for my 2011 Shamrock 21ss.I was looking at the High wind ones but noticed they have clamps to hold down the sides where the Super high wind covers don't.Was wanting to know if the $50 difference between the HW and SHW covers was worth it.After camping at Ocean Lakes campground all last week my poor little A/C unit didn't shut off for 6 days.We have another camping trip planned for the 4th and was definitely gonna get them before then.Any suggestions would be appreciate. Thanks

Both a good choice, I went with the Super High wind so no clamps. What ever you choose have Bob add on the Velcro for the camper side. Enjoy

The end of the pug gets velcroed to the upper section of the bunk end, here is another post on the information with a couple of photos. Unsure if it will work for you since i believe you have the older style tents that are not attached to the bunk end?

+1 on the super high wind pugs with the Velcro. They work great and not messing with clips is a plus.
If you haven't ready done it, also get a roll of Reflectix and cut panels to fit in the zippered windows in the bunks. Between Reflectix in the windows and pugs on the top, you will notice a huge difference both in the heat of summer and the cool fall / winter nights.

Hey DK, I think somewhere you talk about the Reflectix you purchased but would you mind saying again the length and width it took for your 23IKSS?

I purchased a 48" x 25' roll from Lowes. It has enough to do three sides of both bunks and you'll still have some left over. You'll be amazed at the difference. We use them a lot more often than I ever imagined.

I believe that HD and Lowes only carry one width, in two different lengths.

I had a PUP and had the Super High Wind PUGs and they were great! I had them before the velcro era but I don't thing you can go wrong either way you will notice a big difference in the indoor temps on your next camp trip. I am from South Georgia and it made a major difference. It was 12 to 15 degrees cooler with the PUG's installed.

Hmmm....we always have big scraps of reflective barrier at work. I should almost get template measurements for the various windows and have the shop make stock sizes to match our Roo's on the cheap. Hmmmm....(cue the sound of a squeaky wheel representing my brain trying to think).

Ok, I am really struggling to find Velcro that will hold to the camper. I swear I got industrial strength. Are you guys gluing this stuff on?

That's odd. I used the white industrial strength, didn't do anything but wipe the area down with rubbing alcohol first. Slapped it in place. I did let it sit for a day before I finished up. Have not had issues yet with it. Don't see why you couldn't glue it on. They make a glue for velcro but I don't know if it's any different than other glues.

PUGs- Popup Gizmos
solar blankets made for popups and hybrids to regulate temps in the canvas bed ends. also helps keep the canvas clean and darkens the tent ends for late risers or afternoon naps.

Google their website, they've been around a long time.

but they aren't known outside the popup/hybrid community.

Maybe I just have a bad batch of Velcro with terrible adhesive. I am going to try a different type and if that doesn't hold I am going back to clipping.

Thanks for the explanation. I've seen the term used several times and just knew you weren't referring to dogs. Lol

Vader,
I bought the industrial strength from Lowes. It did begin to peel away at the ends but I did have a bit of a strain on it. I left it alone for 24 hours and, so far, it hasn't budged.
