Rockfordroo. If u have bought from a milwaukee area dealership are u close to them? Only reason I ask is because I am just in kenosha and wondering if u have any favorite camp sites or places u go? Always looking for new fun places to explore.

airmech: I'm 2 hrs from Richfield in Illinois. We were at the KOA south of Fond du Lac a couple years ago; it was OK. We've been to Hidden Valley RV Resort at the south end of Lake Koshkonong near Milton, WI; very nice but a bit pricey as I recall. There are two other campgrounds nearby, but we've never been to them (Pettit's Lakeview Campground and Lakeland Camping Resort). We have Rock Cut State Park here in Rockford; we use it for shakedown trips at the beginning of the season. There are some nice places going north of Milwaukee up through Manitowoc to Door County, but I haven't been in any of them in over 20 years. There's Illinois Beach State Park south of you in Zion, IL. It's been even longer since I've been there (BC-before children) and we were still tenting it then.

I will have to check those out. Thanks for the info. Have u ever been to the chain of lakes state park in il. We like to go there or bong state park in wisconsin for our first trip of the season. A place we have heard about was riverbend campground in Watertown, wi. We are heading there in two weeks. It will be our third outing already this season.

Bong state park is actually right here in kenosha. It is pretty Kool with tons of hiking trails. Some good fishing to. I love the privacy when camping at bong. Each site is pretty well maintained and very private. Not sure about riverbend. We are headed there in two weeks. We just got back from a rainy weekend with the kids at yogi.

Evergreen49,

Tows it much better than my Durango. I have a Husky WDH w/sway bar but haven't used the sway bar yet, I wanted to gat a feel for what it was like w/o first. Mostly flat here in Michigan. I've not worried about the weight so far but we've camped in some fashion for years so we keep things to a minimum. Eco getting 10+ mpg w/full propane and full fresh water.

Have you camped at Point Beach in Manitowac Wi or in Door County? Beautiful views of Lake Michigan.

Needless to say I got s fully loaded late 2015 with every option but SS Appliances and upgraded AC and paid $10K less then MSRP with all sorts of other incentives, no freight and prep, no PDI fee and got what I wanted on my trade so I did well.

I like the MSRP. Start with that and take off 1/3. Easy peasy.

RVDirect in Albany, NY Paid $19400 last year for a loaded 2015 23SS. Drove the 4.5 hours to pick it up. Maine dealer(s) wouldn't come within $5000 of that number either in a Roo or a Shamrock. Only issue is neither will work on a trailer not sold by them for a warranty issue. Only problem I've had so far is a sail switch in the furnace that was sticking, which I fixed, no other problems.

Riverbend is cool, but seemed to have to many people when we went, we went on a weekend and this year were going to go Sun-Tuesday and see what happens.

We haven't camped at bong, but we go and drive our dirt bikes cause my little guy is only 9, you can drive dirt bikes at any age but ATV's you have to be 12 and take a class!

We love the chain also, but we don't camp just bring the boat and launch at the State Park.

The only place we keep going back to is Indian Trails in Pardeeville Wi, but we go during the first holiday of the year Memorial, just to get out and we bring like 9 families and have our own died end, so we can get load and crazy, lol.

We've heard good things about Kolher Andrae State park camping, but never went yet.

Only other place where going to try this year in Wisconsin is Warrens Jellystone this year, our group said it's pricey but should be lots of fun!!!!!

We've had lots of fun in Door County camping and sight seeing, went to Jellystone in Prairie du Chien, WI last year and did lots of sight seeing and had a wonderful time on that side of the state also, but we didn't stay on ground long enough to get a feel of how good these places were!!!!!
