Weight difference aside, why would you want to give up your shiny new propane tank for a beat up old one from a swap out place?

The actual fill up place is further than the Food Lion and it always seemed I paid the same or more for the fillup whether it was slap empty or had some left in it. I just didn't wanna be trading a 20 for a 15. But I'll probably get these filled.

Over the years we've accumulated I think 4 - 30 pound tanks. When 1 of the 2 on the RV gets empty, I just swap out in between trips. There's usually always at least 1 full spare in the shop. Then when I'm' going to town, or get bored, I may go fill the spares. We usually carry one of the spares in the winter, or on really long trips, just to keep from having to fill while on the road.

I guess my point is, get you a couple of spare tanks. They're cheap. Get them filled, and keep them around the house. Then you always know you're going on a trip with 2 full tanks.

In my case, I lost my shiny new one due to impatience. Never could make my schedule and the only place in the area that fills tanks business hours match up. I was kicking myself immediately.
