Proper closing up and tucking in technique of tent beds on ROO 23ss

I seem to always battle folding in the beds and tent awning on my two ends. Does anyone have a sure fit way or sequence of closing these ends up, not pinching the canvas, etc?

I typically start on one side of the door making sure everything is pushed in and then move to the other side doing the same thing. I usually move back once more to the first side of the bed to make sure the canvas stayed in before sliding the door hinge closed.

Some additional questions related to proper folding up of canvas bed: Do you use the snaps on the mattress's that snap to the platform? If so, When folded up or only when down? Where Do you have the fold in the mattress? Small portion towards inside of camper or vice versa when folding up? The folding ceiling bar- on top or under mattress before folding up? Thanks for any and all comments and experiences on this subject.

I have a 233s with 3 bed to close the best way I found is to close up the camper and turn on the roof vent fans it like vacuum packing them then just lift up half way make sure all material is in on each side and close very easy !!

All this should have been shown during your PDI.
Shame on your dealer for not going over this with you.
I also start on one side tucking in the canvas, then moving to the other side.
I can do this by myself.
And the mattress is snapped in when sleeping on it.
But the mattress is secured differently when traveling.

We also use the fans to help suck the vinyl away from the edges, works great. During our pdi we were shown to fold the crossbar in the middle before folding the mattress up, then wrapping the strap around the bar at the end of the bar and then snapping at the sides. It does seem to hold it well this way during travel. Some posters have indicated though that 2015s no longer have the snaps or straps.

We do it 2 people now also with the fan. DW pulls in the canvas while I close the bed. I check all sides before locking it down. Haven'd had any issues and all 2 beds are closed up in under 5 mins

Funny, I was thinking about doing just this! I was outside sanitizing the water system in the roo for a trip next week and was thinking a video showing how to store and close the bunk ends would be nice. I may try to get that done today if I get a chance. Great idea!

I do not use the straps at all. I actually fold the matress up and prop it on the lip of the door opening. Then turn the fan on and the canvass mostly sucks itself in if the entry door is closed. Normally do this by myself.

Here you go, it's not a very good video, shot it really quick this afternoon. This is for the newer attached style bunk ends.

Thanks! It was slapped together rather quickly, not one of my better videos, that's for sure.

The fans are the way to go. I have used this method the last three times camping. Works great. You did a good job on the video!!

New to the forum, picked up a 2015 Roo 21SS today and this post about folding up the ends is where I have a problem. First off we have had 4 Pop-ups and a class C.
In watching the video that one of the members did , when he put up the end it just "fell into place" , when I put up the ends up with the dealer we had to "pushed" really hard to close them up.....Didn't feel right but it was getting late and we wanted to get home. From what I have seen the mattress could be where our problem is, do you center it, then tuck in the ends with the fans on? And that does it? Tomorrow we will play with it.....Also what was the "tube" he put on the top of the end?
Anyway, we really like the unit and all it offers..Last thing, what is the process for cleaning the end material? just flatten it out and hose it? Or what??

Thanks,

Jim

Hi, our 2014 mattresses have two large straps with snaps that keep them in place so that when you fold up the end, the mattress stays put, otherwise it falls down and then its difficult to close the end. There should not be any resistance when closing up the bunk ends, if so something isn't quite right. A few posters have mentioned the mattresses no longer have any straps on 2015 models. The two large straps have two snaps each and are located out at the corners at the bunk end edges. Something has to keep it in place from sliding down when closing the bunk end.
We use a good vinyl cleaner for the ends.
