Question on emergency exit window

On the dinette picture window that is the designated emergency exit, there is a screen on the inside and a hinge on the outside. We were told on our walk through to only open it for an emergency. We love the fresh air and as much cross ventilation as possible so why would they put a full screen on it if you are not supposed to open it? Does anyone open theirs?

I have opened mine but they were in the bedroom in my last two 5th wheels. Just make sure that you do not use the red emergency handle to open the window. Most of them will still operate as a normal window to open and let in air or as an emergency exit. If you pull the red emergency handle in some designs your window may fall outside the unit and break.
