Seems to be a common issue, My 23ss was hooked up exactly same way with the same result of course. Now if they could do something about how bad this thing actually sounds. Sounds like my 80's kraco I had in my granada, lol.

Hmmm, I have been racking my brain about this. So I have to pull the stereo out to fix it? Not sure it's worth it. I hooked up an Amazon fire stick this weekend in the driveway so the kids could watch a movie. I ended up having to put it in the actual tv because the hdmi on the radio would not come through the tv. So irritating, what's it for then? I guess I'm going to have to really look at it better.

Its actually not a hard thing to do, pop the plastic pieces off the sides and 3 screws is all that's holding it. It has a schematic right on the top that shows you everything. Do your self a favor and make it right, You only have to do it once and its really easy.

I agree with Purdy. It's a really easy fix...however, the fix only affects the audio output from the TV to the stereo...it doesn't affect video. I don't recall the exact connections on the back of the stereo/tv, but if you want to connect HDMI video to the stereo, you may need to add a video input from the stereo to the TV.
If you've made the fix, you can just connect to the HDMI on the TV and the audio will come through the stereo.

We had no HDMI at 1st but changed it to the 2nd output and it works. Also try setting your TV to the HDMI input.

OMG! when I started dating Mama-Bear, she drove an 82 granada wagon, with (and I am not making this up) a Kraco stereo with one of those horrible, flea-market "power booster" equalizers under the dash. *shudder*

It's amazing how you can remember what 30 watts at about 85% thd sounds like after 30 years. The only song that it couldn't ruin was "revolution" by the Beatles.

Oh man...those power boosters could really make the speakers grills really buzz and the static be even louder! It was a great upgrade!
