Removing interior AC vent?

I have the ones that you can spin, open and close. I am trying to remove this portion, not the housing that is screwed into the ceiling. I see plastic tabs holding them in. Any tricks to getting it off? I pried a small screwdriver underneath it but it didn't want to budge and I don't want to break anything. Just suck it up and do it?
I have an fan right next to the duct opening by my front bed. Noticed it's housing was cold and am assuming there is nothing blocking the flow of air, that runs to that duct, from hitting it directly.

Thanks!

Here is a pic as an example of the piece I'm trying to remove. This is a broken one that fell out. They are obviously brittle which is why I'm afraid to use too much force. Click image for larger version

Just use a flat head screw driver and insert around the flange. It'll pop out with a little twist of the screw driver. I can pull mine out with my finger nails.

I looked up in there. There was insulation, Styrofoam, blocking the air from hitting the fan directly. Plenty of room to add another layer though. I may put it on my to do list. It was interesting to see that the ducts that run off the to slide side are further towards the bathroom than I anticipated. How much further? Don't know. I didn't get that good of a look but I couldn't feel them and it was further than the length of my screwdriver.

Some causes in no particular order:

1, The anti-icing sensor may have moved and isn't in the proper position.

2. If it's ducted, the factory may not have opened up the passages from the cold air plenum into the ducts large enough, so your airflow is reduced, which can lead to freezing. See post #5 here to see my issue with this:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ts-135238.html

3. You're running your fan on low, which will exasperate #1 and #2.

Thanks Rockfordroo. Where can I find the sensor on my Dometic A/C? Methinks you are spot on about the ducts as it doesn't seem to ice up if I have the direct defuser opened straight from the A/C. Gonna check out the ducting with iphone and light.

See page 30 of the attached doc. Your AC may be a different make, but I'm sure it's attached to your evaporator coil somewhere.
