Replace Roo19 Bunk Latches

Hi all,
I am a proud new owner of a 1999 Roo19 with the screw type bunk latches that need repair or replacement. I saw mentions of upgrading to the newer latches. How much work is involved? Is it a do it yourself project for someone reasonably handy? Or, should I just replace the broken screw latches?

I enjoy reading the forum. You gave me lots of good ideas of what to look for before buying.

Thanks,
Michael
