Replacing hatch locks

I want to replace the locks on the storage compartments on my Roo 233. There are three of them and I want to put in combination style locks like these:

I went today to take my old locks off to measure them and make sure I buy combination locks the right length. I realized I'm not sure now to get them off! I unscrewed the screw on the inside and the lock arm came off. I them tapped from the inside and the lock tumblers came out. I took off the nut on the inside. Now what? Do I just keep banging on it to force the rest through?

I did the same change to combo locks. Just take off the large nut and push the body through.

Love our combination locks.

Thanks. I'll just keep hammering away at it. Perhaps there is sealant holding it on. It didn't want to budge and I didn't want to force it,

Two questions:
What length cams did you use? Did you bother with the dust covers for the locks? I'm concerned about the long term durability of them out in the rain.

I went with the tubular locks from Industrial hardware, their customer service is great and the locks look really nice. Now all of my storage doors and the shower door have the same lock/key. I was concerned that someone with a small pipe wrench could twist the knurled knob/lock right off or enough to open the door. Really with as cheap as the doors are the locks are just keeping the honest people honest.
