Reservations with a HTT

When a campground asks for the "length of unit" do you use the length of the unit with the bunks out? I have been because I want to ensure I have enough room on the site. What do you do?

I would give them the total length with the bunks out.

When I had my Trailmanor, I gave them whatever was convenient. If it was a small restricted site that I wanted close to the water or a view, I gave them the closed length. If I wanted a big site, I gave them the open length.

I don't only because its the back bunk tha hangs out and not enough to really affect the use of the site so I go with the unit length no bunks out

we do the same.
the front bunk sticks out about the same as the tongue and the back bunk will simply hang out over the back of the paving, usually over the rear stopping bar at the end of the slab/paving.

I didn't think of that.

We stay at Provincial Parks and they give the general site dimensions which really helps. This year they have posted pics of the sites also.

If asked, we give the tongue to bumper length. Most of our camping is either in state or National Forest/ National Parks and the online reservations systems now list the sites with suitable lengths...we factor in the tow vehicle too, got to park it somewhere...right?
