Congrats on your new home and its maiden voyage. Or, should I say, mod prep trip.

Well I think it is different when I have a pdi scheduled and then find out that the reason I got such a late pdi is because they lied and didn't actually have it. It's not like I can just "take off" on a whim and go camping either, so there is planning required.

Agreed.

I understand a person should keep things in perspective. Definitely the healthy approach and not having a camper is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. At the same time I believe this industry exhibits the worst communication I have ever seen. It should not be difficult to track a camper through production and transport. It should not be difficult to work with a customer who would like information.

Frustration stems from having false information and that is why this thread is so valuable. It allows those of us in the same boat to compare notes, share frustration and share in the victory when it happens.

I guess some of you missed the 2nd paragraph of my post (emphasis added):
While it's not excuse for lying to you, the dealers are essentially at the mercy of the factory and the transporters. The dealer has little control. Once it's on his lot, it's in his interest to get to you ASAP and collect his check.

PS: Dealer called today; my 2503S is in. Just need to schedule the PDI. Hopefully he's NOT lying to me. But I'm not scheduling anything until it's in the driveway.

Hey team...I am finally in the club! Found a damp mattress and had to give in to some cw shenanigans but I don't want to focus on any of that right now. I am on my shakedown camping trip and it towed awesome.

More details to come but me and roo are in full bonding mode. Thanks again to all of my support group.

Will share more later.

And we are driving 9 hours to pick up tomorrow! I am so glad you finally got yours!
I'm so busy at work right now, that it's tough to get away. We probably could have waited if we had to, but I wanted to get it home and not leave it sitting there waiting.

Oh I fought some of the charges and they ended up just moving them to documentation fees. I gotta say, cw was pretty shrewd. They wore me down. I wasn't going to walk over 400 bucks. You win cw. You win.

The pdi was way better than my last camper and I friggin love this roo (even with a few concerns).

I am excited for those of you taking delivery over the days ahead. Keep us posted.

Does anyone know if the date on the camper is the production date, shipped date, or what?

I believe the date on the sticker is the date the frame was pulled and put into production.

I think that is probably true. It doesn't really matter now but it is sort of funny. All of those dates that were given to me to pick it up...the thing wasn't even built. It was literally into production 2 weeks before I drove it off the lot. Somebody messed up.

Like I said, it really doesn't matter now but I firmly believe I found "my" camper at another dealerships online site...my configuration was pretty unique. My hunch is it was sent out to the wrong place. Oh well, water under the bridge.

Unless they have changed something, the sticker gets slapped on the side at the end of the line after it's weighed on a scale, almost the last thing before leaving the "assembly line". At least it was being done like that in September 2013 when we toured the factory for our Roo.
