Rockwood Roo 235s purchased!
Hello everyone!
First-time Roo owner making our way into the group (forum). This forum was so helpful during my research phase, so thanks. We are now proud owners of a new Rockwood Roo 235s and cannot wait to hit the road with it next year.
I'd be interested to hear from other owners about their most helpful/valuable purchase was excluding the trailer itself?
i.e. STEADYfast Stabilizing System, xChocks, Furrion backup camera, toilet paper haha, etc.
Here are few early pics just in the driveway...

Congrats on your purchase. We sure did enjoy ours this spring/summer/fall. Still learning hybrid/travel trailer life.
We have found xchocks to keep things very stable for us. We also purchased Pugs. Although we have the upgraded ac, on really hot days it still struggles to keep cool. The pugs really helped with that.
Enjoy some camp driveway!

Thanks for the details. It seems like Pugs are all the rage. I will definitely look into them. xChocks also seem like a must. I will buy those first thing next year before our first trip.

Sewer Solution (tm) for full service sites; maceration pump for dumping at home (no waiting an hour in line for the tank flushers).

Wow, this is very helpful–thanks Chuck. As a newbie, the one thing I was obviously NOT looking forward to was the dumping. This makes it seem like a breeze. Great suggestion. I just watched three YouTube videos about the Sewer Solution. Nothing like watching people flush POO on a Saturday.
Question: Do most dumping stations have access to pressured water? Disregarding the super remote sites and boondocking of course.
I also have a black tank flush out port. I am assuming I would do that a few times a season and not every time if I am using the Sewer Solution?
Side note: The position of my driveway might be perfect for an at-home dump out with the Sewer Solution. 20ft off the back of my driveway, into the yard is a full-size house sewer flush out. I could actually just run a smaller PVC from the trailer to the flush out. Piped completely underground. Magic!! Are there rules against pumping at home per state/town? My wife will hate this, I am sure of it.

Dumping your own bodily waste in your toilet or sewer is legal everywhere I can think of. Shouldn't matter if you stored it in a tank first. I would never ask this question of a city employee, though.
There is pressure water at dump sites. Non potable (not drinkable).
Sewer Solution (tm) is really only viable on a full service site and avoids the messy 4" hose. Takes too long to use it at the dump site where the lines can be an hour or two long. Hence the ability to dump at home and skip the dump site completely.
Dumping at the dump site is most conveniently done with a short length of 4" diameter hose. Just salvo the tank. Salvo the grey tank after the black to rinse the hose. Put some water and Odorlos in the black tank and let the bacteria clean up the residue. There is rarely any need or reason to rinse the black tank if you're using an enzyme/bacteria/oxygen method.
At home I use a maceration pump into the toilet off the garage. Secure the end of the hose in the toilet so it doesn't break loose! If there's no line at the dump site I salvo the stuff, rinse out the 4" hose and store it in the hollow back bumper.

Welcome to the forum from just east of Toronto, Canada! Congrats on your new Roo.
One near "must have" for a hybrid is Popup Gizmos (PUGs) on the tent ends, and a couple oscillating fans inside. The PUGs will minimize condensation on the underside of the tent roof and the fans will keep the air moving inside to also minimize condensation when you're buttoned up at night or when the AC is running.

On the Dump longest i have waited is 30 min first time out try to book a full hook up site so your not rushed at the dump station or feel rushed No one has ever rushed me . Use the wash out every time when possible not all the hoses at the dump station will work they seem to get the ends and stuff cut off. Where did you purchase? If your dealer is close or Camping world they have dump sites to use for good sam members

Welcome to the 235s family from the southern shore of Lake Ontario! We love all of the space. We've had ours for one summer and haven't filled all of the storage yet. This forum is full of great advise, much of it applicable to the 235s.

I also just purchased a Rockwood Roo 235S in late September and was wondering if you received a TST monitor for your tire monitoring system? I did purchase the backup camera and it works fantastic. Have had camper out for several trips and I really enjoying it.

Nice looking trailer, enjoy the outdoor kitchen I don't think we will ever go without now.
X-chocks and Anderson levelers I believe are a must.

Thanks!! I was actually in Vancouver earlier in the year and loved it. For work, not camping.
Yeah, it seems like there is a LOT of love for Popup Gizmos. I will definitely be looking into those! Our Roo also came with some small fans for the sleeping areas specifically, but it sounds like you are using larger fans?

Our 235s did not come with a TST monitor but I've been reading up about it. Sounds like most people think it's a good addition. I do wonder how valuable it actually is. Would stopping every few hours on a long trip and checking pressures accomplish the same thing?
We def plan on getting a backup camera. Which model did you get, Furrion?

Thanks!
xChocks and Anderson levelers are already in my Amazon cart! Good to have some additional confirmation on those being a good purchase.

Along with PUGS, pick up some reflectix ( insulation section) at your nearest Lowe’s or Home Depot and cut them to fit between the screens and vinyl of your windows. They will help with the heating and cooling. When not in use just roll up and place in a storage area.
Congrats

We don’t have the Roo anymore but we also had the little fans with ours. We found that 12” oscillating fans - one at each end - did a much better job of circulating air around the entire rig.

Yes I purchased the Furrion Vision FOS43TASF 4.3 Inch Wireless from Amazon and it works great. Took lest the 5 minutes to set up. Just wondering if I should have gotten the larger display.
