Welcome to the forum, I have not done much cold weather camping other than a couple trips where the temperature dropped to 32 degrees overnight, then back up to 55 in the day, the furnace ran a lot but with heated mattresses we were cozy and at these temps as long as you are keeping the camper warm inside you do not freeze the pipes. I always camp at campgrounds, I don't dry camp, others may chime in, you are good to run furnace all night on batteries if you have an inverter to charge back up in daylight.

Enjoy!

Welcome! We are just getting our feet wet, having brought our 23IKSS home in November. We want to be able to winter camp, too, and will be testing what this unit can handle. In part because we're too excited to wait until spring to play around in it. :-)

Our first night in it not long after we got it, we spent a night in our driveway to see how warm the tent beds would stay w/the heated mattresses. It got down to about 35 degrees that night. Cool in the camper (we probably could have tried harder to heat it - just wanted to see what it would do), but with the heated mattresses, it was great for sleeping.

Last weekend we spent a night in a campground where we had electric only. We ended up having no running water due to reasons not related to weather (newbie messup = no water pump), but all else was great. We tried out a lot of things for the first time - microwave, oven, fridge, etc. We kept the bunk ends in because it was just the two of us and the forecast was calling for temps in the low teens. We had a small ceramic heater, and once it warmed up, that mostly kept the camper warm without much help from the furnace. It ultimately only got down to about 30 degrees that night, but it was warm & cozy in there.

Hope you love your Roo as much as we do so far!!!

Welcome to FRF from Camano Island.
For colder camping, you need a set of Popup Gizmos for the Tent ends and Reflectix for the Tent windows.

We camp when it gets down in the single digits at night but warms up in the afternoon. 4-5 days at a time. Snow, hail, rain, the Shamrock has always done great. Gizmos are worth a look. We don't have set yet but will get them next month. Never had a problem with anything freezing. The furnace will run a lot. We always run the generator for a couple hours when we go fishing or 4wheeling to charge the battery. Sometimes we run the genny early to warm up the heated mattresses. That really takes the chill off on the really cold nights. We haul 2 Can-Am Outlanders every time we head to the mountains.
