Thanks for posting the pics. While ours is sitting at the dealers awaiting warranty work, I'm going to ask them to take another look at the skylights (since we seem to have many of the same issues). Best of luck to you.

Well FR river wants to take our Roo back to the factory to repair the leaky skylight and hopefully the spongy roof. The asked when THEY could pick it up. I am not sure they realise we live in Southern Ontario.

We may need to cancel our Darien Lake trip to have it fixed.

This is bitter sweet for you, I'm sure. Just keep in mind that the factory is the best repair you can get! Still, I know the timing isn't great

I know you'll keep us updated and I wish you the best

Forest River is dispatching someone today to come and pick up our rig from our driveway in Dundas Ontario to bring it back to Indian for repairs.

I must say that FR is doing a stellar job to keep us happy. RVWholesalers is on the ball too going to bat for us with FR.

Kudos to both

Ok we just heard back from the warranty dept at RVW.

To catch everyone up FR dispatch someone to pick up our rig on May 22nd. That means they put a call into the carting company they use.
Our Rig actually left the driveway on June 8.

The update from FR through RVW is that the unit is currently in a service bay at FR having the roof replaced ( at least it was yesterday. RVW has asked FR to be proactive in arranging the delivery back to our driveway as it took them almost 3.5 weeks to pick it up.

I think I would make sure you get the 2nd year warranty on that Roo! Over 3 months now...I feel for you. I hope everything is right when you finally get it back. Hopefully you can go out and enjoy your new toy!

Ok KANGA is home in my driveway.
For those of you who are interest and keeping score our 2012 Rockwood Roo 233S (KANGA) his been back to the factory (FR) twice now.
Once because all 3 bunk ends leaked (that was fixed before we took possession in Apr 2012
The second time was for a leaky skylight.
During the skylight repair FR also fixed:

- replace the whole roof --> skylight, vents antennas, etc
- floor water damage (water line leak) replaced with new floor
- 22 feet new linoleum
- 28 feet copper tubing ( my guess the water line froze before we took possession in Apr)
- front wall crack in repair
[I am not sure what that maybe FR crackedw it during the roof repair???]
- new door
- clearance lights
- hitch light
- 2 s/o pans ?????!
- caulking & misc

I must say I am very pleased with Mike Anglemyer at Forest River, Connie Butterfield at RV Wholesalers and Aaron (??) from Maple Tree Transportation for getting all the repairs finished and getting KANGA back on our driveway before our next trip this coming week.
A big thank you to you all!

That's great, Barney. I've only heard of good things with factory repairs.

Did they really use copper? I thought they all used PEX nowadays.

I believe the only copper on my Roo19 is the gas lines.

Copper rather than PEX? Have you priced copper lately??? I was low on Romex wire for a project around the house, as I finished-off a 500' spool that I bought about 10 years ago when I built the addition. I picked-up a 25' coil of 12/2wG, and it cost me better than $35!!!! I used to be able to buy 250' for that!!!!

Copper vs PLEX
Actually was not sure the copper was for the water line leak I only assumed.
Looking at the unit (while packing my stuff back in) I do notice the water lines are PLEX.
The repair sheet does say 28 feet of copper I guess they replace the gas lines too.

They almost replaced the whole trailer!

Now the FW pump is cycling on every 20 minutes.
Mike Anglemyer at FF has offer to reimburse me for a pressure test and the repair to what ever is causing the pressure loss.

And RVW is working with me to find a local RV Service centre that deals in FR expandables.

I am still working through this but I have nothing but praise for both Forest River and RV Wholesalers. They have been excellent!

Update: Before we winterized we concluded that the pump was cycling because of a loose hose clamp. It was on the hose attached to the city water inlet. Note the rust seen in the attached pic.
