Roo 23SS 30 Amp Fuse to slide keeps blowing.

We have a new 2015 Rockwood Roo 23SS. We lost power to the slide after our first camping trip but found an archived thread here that led us to discover it was the 30 amp fuse located under the front of the trailer: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...out-64897.html.

Just tonight when we were bringing the slide in again, the same fuse blew. It only seems to happen when we're bringing the slide in. Any thoughts as to what may be causing this? The fix is easy enough but obviously it shouldn't be happening in the first place.

If it's occurring at the end of the slide travel, if the switch is held for just a little to long, the fuse blows before the override clutch works. I had the same issue when ours was brand new, blew twice while camping in the driveway. Replaced with the 30 amp auto resetting circuit breaker, no issues since.

jim and chris sounds like a great solution. where did you locate the breaker?

Any auto parts store should have them located where they have the fuses. You want the one with the longer blades so it will fit in the green fuse holder, looks like this one....

we have a 2007 Roo 23SS and after 8+ years without any slideout issues, this last March, ours started blowing fuses.
couldn't find a reason and we were on a 5 week camping trip. so i just kept replacing them until we got home.
then during the last 3 days of the trip, it stopped blowing them.
just did a 4 day trip and it still is working fine.

still haven't found any reason for it.

Same general issue with fuse. Solution - auto resetting fuse. Not a problem since.

Have not had this problem yet but would like to know what to do when I do... and you know it is going to happen at the worst possible time and place. How do I manually retract the slide out?

under the sofa. bottom kick pulls off(Velcro) and there is a manual turn fitting. my turn crank was in the back storage bay accessible from under rear bunk or outside under bunk.

Didn't the dealership show you how to do it, during the PDI for your 23SS?
Mine showed me the manual crank and where to attach it under the sofa.
My crank was stored behind the sofa.

Thank you kennyairport and bikendan. No, the dealer did not show us, or if they did we didn't remember. I will check it out tomorrow while I am loading up the camper.

Mine is starting to do same thing, it used to click when in all the way, now it blows fuse. First time it ever happened but thanks to this post I found the fuse. Luckily it was all the way in. I am going to have dealer still check for a short. On hot days the AC keeps tripping breaker with nothing else running.

I have a 2013 roo 233s, and when breaking camp Friday, my slide would not come back in. I was afraid it was the motor (250.00 min), I checked the fuses in the fuse panel and they were all good. After reading this, I have another place to check? I will look for the 30 amp fuse under the trailer. Thanks for the tip.

Same for me my 2015 23ss slide worked fine for the 3 camp site on our way south. Got to our spot in the Keys and nothing. Had a moment of panic but remembered the manual crank. Checked panel but all was good. Had the same thought $$$ or time at the dealer. I have been traveling home to NJ going to have 1 or 2 stops before getting home. It's not crazy hard but seems like you just crank and crank. Glad I saw this thread and remembered seeing the fuse under there. I'll check it when I get home.

Well mind did it on Friday and as we all know when you have a problem always check here first for someone else has already had the same problem and you will find the answer here most likely . Has anyone found out why it happens? The first fuse I put in blew then the second fuse now still working but I have a auto resetting fuse ready to go in and when I was at the auto parts store I bought several replacement fuses that I would need ( I hope not ) one day 7.5, 15. 20 30 40 amp.
