Roo brake question
I have a 2009 Roo 23SS. On advice of a dealer I had a new 7 pin power cord installed. I had it done at another dealer due to logistics. The cord was installed to correct an intermittent problem with turn signals and brake lights. After it was replaced the brake light/turn signal problem was fixed. Then they told me that I don't have any brakes and that many of my marker lights are out. They are right on both counts.I am reluctant to take it back to the same dealer (or any dealer) and would rather handle the problem myself.
Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome by the way.
Is it that you don't have brakes or that you don't have brake lights now that the power cord was replaced?
As for the marker lights. Have you ruled out the simplest thing - bulbs?

You need to check the receptacle on the tv and make sure you have power to each pin when turn signals are used, the brakes, clearance, 4way flashers and charge wire.

This is a handy item to have. It is a seven pin circuit tester. It will let you know if you have power at the TV plug.

I do not have any brakes. I tested them by letting the TV idle, while towing, and using the brake controller to stop us, nothing happened and the light on the controller did not show. The dealer told me the the pins on the TV are good, but I am going to get one of those testers. I have not tested all of the bulbs on the markers, but the chance of 9 of them burning out all at once is not good. I am still new at towing and camping and I am not real mechanical, so thanks for your ideas.

Have you checked the fuses on the TV that control the trailer wiring.

Just quickly concentrating on the brakes here and not the running lights because I have to run.
Lets do the easy stuff first
Are you positive that your brake controller is working?
Have you checked the trailer's fuse for the brakes? Checked fuses in truck?
Assuming those things are fine, that seven pin circuit tester will help to check the wiring plug connection. You can also use a 12volt test light or your voltmeter and save a few bucks. Its a good start.
If none of that, than there are other steps. Al-KO manual for your reference.

You must not have the factory tow package, if you had to have a 7-pin connector installed.
What are you towing with?

If you had never had a 7 pin connector you most likley never had brakes. Depends on connector previously used.
To many unknowns here.
Year make and model of tv.
What connector was previously used.
If there's even a brake wire to the connector.
Most tv use relay for brakes on tt.
Newer vehicles with tow package use seperate fuses for tv separate from tt.

My TV is a 2005 Trail Blazer with a 4.2 engine, a little lite for towing. But, it did come with the towing package installed. Are there fuses in the trailer that control the brakes, any idea where they are?

so, you had the 7-pin pigtail from the trailer replaced?
check the above diagrams and test the connector.

There are no fuses in or around the trailer for lights or brakes on the camper .
That is all controlled by the tv.

Back to the original post, as this has gotten out of hand.
1. You had trailer brakes, but no brake lights or turn signals, is this correct?
2. Now a local dealer replaced the trailer pig tail and now says you have no trailer brakes, is this correct?
3. Now you also have no marker lights, is this correct?
4. You do have brake lights and turn signals, is this correct?
I think we are confused, or at least I am. If you had brakes, and a dealer replaced the pigtail, and now you don't have brakes, he is in very serious violation of the law, as the trailer must have brakes. He should have never let you leave, and you should have never left.
Please give us the rest of the story. Also check your owner's manual for the tow vehicle, there may be fuses to control the trailer wiring separate from the tow vehicle, and if he hooked something up wrong in the pigtail, may have blown a fuse. The towing fuses are generally in the under hood fuse box.

Everyone is asking questions. Need to wait on the OP to respond. F1100Turbo made the comment in a post, "too many unknowns" but yet everyone keeps posting without the OP answering the questions. Someone even posted "Most tv use relay for brakes on tt.", which is not correct. Trailer brakes do not work through a relay on the tow vehicle. The charging system may work through a relay, but never trailer brakes, would be illegal in all 50 states. Yes I am a ASE certified MASTER tech for trucks and autos, and a part time RV tech. We need to let the OP come back with the rest of the story.

The whole story, don't get bored. I have had on and off problems with the brake lights and turn signals. A dealer at the RV show said that I should replace the pigtail, because the old one was corroded (sight unseen). I was never aware of any problems with the brakes. I had only a few problems with marker lights, but it was just bulb problems. I bought a new 7 pin pig-tail on line (8 ft.) and had a local dealer install it. While towing from storage to the dealer I did notice some markers out, but no problems with the brakes. Maybe I don't know what not having brakes on the TT should feel like. Anyway, after the new 7 pin was installed the turn signals and brake lights worked just fine. He then told me that the brakes did not work. He had it hooked up to a test box that displayed several functions including brake lights, turn signals, brakes and others I don't remember. He pointed the the brake indicator and it was lit. He said that it was not lit before. He wanted to charge me extra to do further diagnostics. I could not afford to spend addition money for him to poke around. I drove back to storage and did the idle test my son suggested and that seemed to indicate that the brakes are not working. Again, I did not seem to have any problems towing from the dealer to storage, about 20 miles, but I may not know what I should be feeling. I am thinking about another RV dealer looking at it, but I just might be going in circles.

That's why I think u never had brakes. You would definitely know when you do or don't if they ever worked.
You need to get a volt ohm ammeter and start testing your tv connector for all functions.
Using diagrams posted previously you should be able the find trailer brake actuater wire.
Not the same as brake light wire.
