Roo dinette-how does this thing work?

So, we are out on first adventure with our 2012 Roo and we are loving it! Now if only we can get the dinette into the raised position. Any ideas of what we are doing wrong. We see the yellow safety on the side that the dealer pointed out that we need to use to lower it for travel, but he didn't show us how to raise it!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

it would help knowing which model Roo you have.
also, are you talking about the dinette table?
mine has folding legs but FR could have changed this for 2012.

The table raises in a sort of z pattern. The yellow button is a latch and then pull the table top towards the yellow button side while pulling up and pushing to the opposite side. I know this is confusing we have had our for 6 months and still have trouble raising the darn thing. It is sturdy but not the best design.

I'm sorry, but I got a laugh out of your post

I could not get our table raised when we got it home, and in fact, a neighbour who came over to look at it ended up doing it. When he was gone I was thinking "now how in the he#% did he do that"?

Just do like iluvlcy says, to lower it, just disengage the yellow latch and pull towards you holding on to the 'handle' on the side, and to lower, pull up and opposite.

I have to say that the table is my least favourite thing in the trailer=[

I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to raise that dinette table. It helps if you step on the table feet to pin it down to the ground while you are doing what iluvlcy suggested.

Doesn't the table "walk" when you are driving? Or, did you bolt it down?

yes, I stand on the other leg, too. my job is to ake care of all " that stuff" while my husband does all the outside stuff, like hooking the water, ect.... took me a while to get the table as well.

Somehow I will eventually mod the dinette to either poles or the type of legs that are on a standard folding table. It would be nice to be able to store our screen room under the dinette to keep the aisle open but with the table leg as it is you can't store anything under there.

Our table is stategically placed exactly in-line with the window so that the edge of it hits the glass

I would assume that my table would not only 'walk' but 'run' (right into the window) while driving.

Lucky break for Scott (Triguy) if he can leave his upright.

What we do is store our rolled-up sleeping bags - four of them - under the table and we lay our pillows and memory foam mattress on top of the table. The memory foams are heavy - ours is a 2" - and I think that does a good job keeping the table steady. We haven't yet opened up to see the table had walked while driving.

BTW - we do this simply to save time loading up and taking down. I like to be efficient.

We did replace this table base with just wood screw on legs because i had a hard time getting my legs under the table. We ended up using this base on our countertop extension because we did not like its placement right over the drawers and it is nice to be able to move it around.

Thank you for all the replies. Once we figured out that the table doesn't simple lift, but unfolds in a very unnatural "z" shape it, it became obvious enough what we were doing wrong. Like most of you, I'm not loving the design on the table. We've found it to be quite wobbly, but overall it isn't completely disappointing.

I wish I could have replied sooner to you all but internet in state parks is a little tricky.

Its awesome knowing that this community is here and so supportive, especially as first time owners! Thank you again for all the replies, I hope to reciprocate once we get more familiar with what the heck we are doing.
