Roo limited availability...WHY?
Well just had a deal fall through on a new Roo19...Jacka$$ RV dealer decided to change the trade-in value of my trade so I said no way and scrapped the deal. Will be selling my unit privately now. My problem now is...I don't want to go back to this dealer to buy the Roo when I sell my old popup and there is only 1 other dealer anywhere near me(within 500kms) that sells Roos. Why are these Roos not sold by more dealers? Anyone in Alberta Canada able to tell me where to purchase Roos. I live near Calgary. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your deal going south. Any Shamrock dealers near you? Roo and Shamrocks are sisters of each other.

I had a very good experience buying from RV Wholesalers in Ohio, and having it shipped to me. But I'm not sure they can sell to Canada....

Both RVW and RVD sell to Canadians - meaning they will deliver (to the border or maybe across?) or you can come down for pickup. I know one of our site team, Dave_Monica, has made several purchases this way.

But to answer the OP's question....
Hybrids are unusual campers, and not many people have become enlightened to them. Next time you hit a crowded campground, notice that you see a lot of TTs. 5vers, a good amount of PUP's an a scattering of Motorhomes. You might see one or maybe 2 Hybrids.
Not that many dealers carry them because there honestly ain't that much demand for them. There is only one dealer in STL that carries Roos, and they act like its a bother to them to try to sell one.

I know Sauders has some in stock in Canada. In Provincial Parks I camp in I have seen many Hybrids, often young families seem to get them as step up from a pop up but at shorter length than a TT.

I beg to differ. We own a 233S and have seen campgroups where hybrids have have been equal to TTs. I think it depends on where you live and where you camp. HTT are becoming popular enough that more and more people seems to be buying them leading more manufacturers are making them.

I have to beg to differ, too.
I've been watching the hybrid market over the past 10 years. I've seen the ebb and flow.
In past years, there were more hybrid manufacturers and way more models/floorplans than there are now.
Companies like Jayco, Starcraft, KZ, Kodiak, Aerolite, Surveyor all had many more hybrid models than they currently do.
And hybrids are very rare out West. In the 7 years we've owned our Roo, we've probably seen a total of less than 15 hybrids and very few dealers carry them.

Its not worth it right now to import, or real close anyway being in Calgary.
Rangeland has a pile of Roos late time I looked and Canadian leisure sells Shamrock, Highriver autoplex had a bunch of roos too.
So I don't think they are hard to find at all, not getting rammed on the price is another story....

Cowracer - Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the demand for hybrids is high, and increasing as a % of the RV pie.
I'm sure they're a bother to your Dealer, who would rather sell $60,000 5ers than $15,000 hybrids.
I go to the campgrounds and am amazed at the % of 5ers compared to bumper pulls and coaches. But I see why: Lots of room, you have a vehicle when you get there, easier to tow, etc.

I don't know if demand is growing - I think hybrids have a steady niche in the market. Some manufacturers (like FR and Jayco) seem committed to building them and some dealers seem committed selling them.
I believe Keystone, Cruiser, and Heartland have all dropped Hybrids completely. Dutchmen seems to have pared down the floorplans they offer. If hybrids were a major force in the market, I doubt you see this. These same companies have multiple lines of toyhaulers - another niche, but apparently a profitable one.
Our Roo dealer always has 4-5 floorplans on the lot and they sell. But whe we were shopping, I wanted to look at Kodiak and Solaire. Nobody within 200 miles of us had one, even though there were a couple dealers with those brands of travel trailers in stock.
Its hard to buy what you can't find. The internet guys certainly offer lots of hybrids at good prices, but without more support from manufacturers and local dealers, (and customer demand) I think these stay a small piece of the market.

Could also be too many warranty issues as well if the companies could not get the bed ends to work right and so not worth the hassle.
