It's one of our favorite spots (Mogollon Rim, north of Payson, AZ), and is about a two+ hour drive from our house. It gets us out of the desert heat in Phoenix.

It's often a battle to find space... Actually, the 233S works perfectly for us. Even with each of our 4 pups near 100 lbs (one is 130!), we have plenty of room.

Ahhh brings back memories.
Myself and a couple friends camped in that area shortly after graduating high school. Of course we only had tents at the time but we ate like kings and slept like babies in the cool mountain air.
I recall fishing in some small lakes and trying to wash ourselves up in some very cold natural spring water. I also remember there still being some patches of snow on the ground which was really cool for us since we lived in the desert areas of AZ at the time.
Great pics of the dogs too, they seem to be really in their element there. Thanks for sharing

Mogollon Rim

We just received our 233S this past weekend and want to camp up there in the next few weeks. Where do you suggest? We were thinking about Aspen or Christopher Creek campgrounds?

We usually don't go to a developed campsite, but choose to boondock. I'd guess that either of the campgrounds you mentioned would be nice. The spot depicted in the pics is off the rim road and down milk ranch point. Send me a PM if you'd like more specific directions to where we go. But... I've found that most anywhere on the rim is nice! We will look for the other 233S when we're up there!

What kind of fencing is that, that you use for the pups outside? What a great idea to give them room to move about without always tying each other up with ropes!

The fences we use are the 24" x 36". We are using multiple fences to create the yard depicted, but they are AWESOME compared to trying to keep them in camp with leads.

I've attached a link to Petco that sells the brand we use (Precision).

Great pictures. We are from Glendale. My wife and I love the rim area as well as any place in the white mountains. We are looking forward to out first TT. We bought a Coleman popup new in 1989 and still have it. It's in great condition though it hasn't been used for some years now (will probably end up with our youngest son who lives in Bend, Oregon). We camped at Big Lake every year for years while our kids grew up. We are at a point now that we want a few more luxuries (like a bathroom/shower) to start our camping adventures again.
