I would be ticked if they tried selling have package...the Oyster color is very nice, but the white wheels really stand out and clash.

2. Thermo Windows - with tent bunks and skylights I am not sure these have a huge value, unless turtle durning really warm or cold days. Does anyone have them on their hybrid and what are your thoughts on there value? Is there upside such as better hardware, more ventilation, etc... Are the Thermo Windows still bonded installed with the Sapphire package?
3. Power Tonge Jack - the brochure makes me think it's a factory option, but the few times shopping the Roos it appeared to be one of the upgrades the dealers wanted to add. What is the best Power Jack to buy? If a factory option what make/ model dose FR typically install? Do the factory power jacks have hook up lights?

I have the night shades and to me worth it, as for Thermal Windows, I like the std screens, as for power Jack well worth the $140 they charge I ran into issues with my old Shasta with a 1,000# TW and power Jack is a life saver with WDHitches

Roo Options
I think the sell each item in the package as separate options, including the unlisted Oyster side panels.
Just like the auto industry it's cheaper to get a package of options than it is to order a limited selection of options in the package.
It makes since you can order all or most of the options without selecting the package and end up paying more.
I can't see them requiring you to buy the option package and allow you to delete options of the package without reducing the costs?
P.S. I have noticed dealers listing the option packages, but not quoting the option package price. Rather they show the single option price for each item in the package. A low handed way to inflate the cost/ margin on the unit, only to offer that saving back to the buyer durning price haggling.

You can find plenty of units on RVT and RV trader where its very evident the dealer is trying to get top dollar, by that I mean in the mid to upper 20's for specific units, that clearly do not have all the bells and whistles. Items such as the standard flooring, no slide topper, no Sapphire pkg etc. They ordered those units that way specifically. Other than transport costs if one dealer can do it so can another if they want to do it and not lose money.
You only supposedly have 2 packages on the Roo, Sapphire and Convenience C. You have to take C which is tinted glass, microwave, TV antenna,Awning, LCD TV, water heater, and outside speakers.

I just can't imagine having the Power Jack installed only as a dealer option.
I asked the local dealer if it was a dealer installed option if I would get a credit or the original manual Jack that was removed?
Each time I have gotten a BS answer.
This was from a dealer that stated they only sell trailers with Power Jacks.
I ask them where is the pile of manual jacks they remove from each trailer?
At that point the salesman would excuse himself and let us know he was available if we needed additional help!
I don't understand the BS from RV sales teams? So what if you order all the trailers with power jacks and they cost more!
Great because I am willing to pay a little more to have the Power Jack. Plus I am more comfortable with it being installed at the factory as opposed to a tech person.
They don't want to haggle over the cost of options, yet they want to charge more for dealer option upgrades?

According to my Price sheet the Factory added option is $137.00 for the power Jack, I would assume if a dealer added one it would cost more.
I removed mine and installed my Husky 4500# with remotes as I had purchased that for my previous trailer, I like the Husky better, less noise, smoother, more power by 1,000#'s a bit overkill but works perfectly and I like the wire harness holder. This was my jack on my old trailer but now it is on the Roo

Wicked1,
After reading everyone's posts I am going to go with a Husky as well.
I just need to see if I can order a Roo with just a manual crank then I can add the Husky myself or have it installed by the dealer.

Erik -
Just checked my dealer's web site and their new 2016 Shamrocks all have manual jacks so I know they are available that way. That is the way mine came in last year. I purchased off the lot. I negotiated to the best of my limited abilities and at the end I said, throw in a power jack and I'll sign. They did, so I did. I had not researched power jacks so I didn't get a top of the line Husky, but the one they gave me is working fine so far. Good luck.

Good Choice and they are simple to install, just get the right connectors and use electrical tape if you are not familiar with soldering which I soldered all my connectors, but can be installed without doing that. Check prices in Amazon and CW they sometimes run specials for $250-$270

Have you considered the Barker? It's a great jack that's made in the US. It is more expensive than the Husky, but when you have one being made in the US where there are labor and environmental laws, it's gonna cost more than made in China. I just get really tired of hearing people complain about all of our manufacturing jobs going overseas just to continue buying products made in China, Mexico, etc. Rant over.

I agree buying American is best but Barker only goes up to 3500#'s the Husky is 4500#'s. I have talked to a lot of ppl with different types of jacks, but one thing they all complain about is most of them are noisy and slow, the Husky is not. Their support is fantastic and it is an American company, their response to my one minor warranty issue was superb.
Granted I do not know Barker but having owned and dealt with Husky products I can only speak on experience with them?

Look into Bulldog. There is a reason they have a 5 year warranty. Its because you will not need it.

I have the Barker 3500 on a TT that weighs in at ~9500 when loaded. I have no problem raising it and the truck enough to swing the bars of my Equalizer around onto the pads without needing the tool to pry them over. A massive park model behind a 1 ton dually is the only possible scenario I can see where the Barker wouldn't suffice. And an American company isn't the same as an American manufacturer.

Only Bulldog jack I can find is a Reese product. Which means it is almost guaranteed to be made in China.

I think Bulldog is owned by the same parent company (Cequent/Horizon) that owns Reese but I don't believe Bulldog products are manufactured by Reese.
As far as I understand, Bulldog is their own brand and company.

Like I said had no experience with Barker and didn't bad mouth them, but I buy as much American made as I can just sometimes you can't get it all, other than that not much more to say other than I am happy with the Husky and my Ford

Correct on Cequent.............The last one I bought was made in Mexico I believe. Where its made doesn't matter to me. When they give you a 5 year warranty and all the others are only 1 or 2 years that should tell you something. They are one powerful SOB but I did have one go bad after about 4 years of abuse on an equipment trailer. No questions asked they sent me a new one after I called them........overnight UPS with no grief like giving them a CC# or cross shipping BS. That had to cost them over $100 to overnight one of those heavy things.

All I know is that when I searched them they were all listed as "Reese Bulldog XXXXXX"
