Roo Replacement Breakaway Cable

My used 2010 Roo 21SS didn't come with one and looking under the frame I can see what looks like a plugin for one (see attached).

Are the replacement cables generic and any brand I buy will fit? Or do I need a specific name/brand?

In addition I am giving some thought to replacing this with the Fastway Zip that seems like such a better solution.

Trailer ZIP Fastway Electric Breakaway Cable Switch 4' Coil RV Free Shipping | eBay Unless our RV dealer has one I'll probably have to get one after the next camping trip.

Not the next trip. Stopping and losing your rig are two things that can kill you and or others. This is a biggie. As the old American Express ad said "Don't leave home without it."

Folks here on the forum can guide you to the correct resolution for the missing equipment. I cannot speak to your model, others here will have the correct answers.

Replaced my cable that was too long with the Zip Fastway cable. Love it. Easy to hook up & always the right length as it is coiled.

Hope that the plug that goes in the socket is there, otherwise something is not working right as once it is pulled the brakes should lock up & stay locked up as long as there is a battery or until you plug the plug back in.

I am going to try and get a better picture tomorrow and then head over to our local RV Dealer. Like you say first priority is getting a functional breakaway cable. Then I'll think about the castaway.

My factory cable broke last year and I replaced it with a Fastway Zip cable. It's a great little device, far better than a straight cable.

RV Dealer actually had a Fastway, bought it and a standard break away cable just for the black piece on the end. Back in business again, now if our weather here would only improve.

I use the Fastway cable as well. Works great but had to mod hook to truck as the new receivers on Chevy trucks will not accept the small hook that is supplied. Later RJD
