Roo/Shamrock closet depth?

I want to add shelving on one side of the wardrobe, as many others have done. I'd like to use wire shelving with attachments at the front and rear edges of the shelf.

My trailer's in storage and not immediately accessible. Can someone tell me the depth from the back wall of the wardrobe to back side of the front stile at the door? Also, what dimension of shelving have others used? The deepest I find is 20" which seems insufficient to fully span the space from front to back.

If someone can provide a link to the shelf material they used, and a picture of how they connected it at the front edge, I'd greatly appreciate it. It seems to me that the standard wall clips will work fine on the back edge, if spaced closely.

Thanks for your assistance.

We have a 21dk and the closet depth is 23 9/16". I, like you, have only been able to find the 20" width shelving. Such a bummer!! The DH is very handy and hopefully comes up with a solution. I really want those shelves because our current solution of using Rubbermaid stacked drawers is not ideal. There is so much unused space.

Thanks much for your assistance. I could use shelf standards and shelf clips fore and aft, to support a custom-cut wooden shelf. But others seem to have been successful using wire shelving. I'd prefer that approach if I can make it work.

I made wooden shelves for the same reason you described. In my opinion the turned out more like an as delivered look.

Hamster, I see from your profile that you have a Roo 19. It appears from your photo that the wardrobe is 1/2 the width of the wardrobe in the 21DK. In mine, the opposite wall where I'd like to attach the shelf doesn't exist because it's only halfway to the opposite side of the wardrobe. I'd have to attach the wall standard to the front and rear somehow. While that's more of a challenge it's not insurmountable.

Check for pics of what folks have done with the wide wardrobe on the 23SS. I used the wire shelving system with support arms on my previous Roo 23SS but I don't have any pics.

Gotcha. I should have read more carefully. I wish I had more wardrobe space.

I wish I had less and that they had outfitted half the closet with adjustable shelves. I guess the wider wardrobe is one of the things I get with a trailer that's 2' longer. That, and added weight, of course.

What was the orientation of the shelving? The cabinet being about 24" deep, I can't figure out what size others used, and where/how it was attached. What size of shelving did you use, where were the attachment points, and what kind of attachment hardware did you use?

Did you install the standard wire shelf brackets to the back wall and support it with brackets at a 45° angle? If so, didn't that impose an inordinate amount of stress on the back wall connectors?

I don't recall the depth of the shelving but it was about an inch or two less deep than the space I had. There were 2 different depths and I had to use the shallower one.

I screwed the 2 wall support brackets to the outside wall in the back of the wardrobe and used standard shelf supports since I was only going to have clothes on the shelves. The shelf supports are about 2" high and stick straight out at 90 deg. from the wall. The SS screws only went about a 1/2" into the wall.

I left half the wardrobe for hanging coats and shirts and installed the wire shelving ing the other half - 3 shelves, I think. With the wire shelving, you buy a 6' length and use a hacksaw to cut each shelf to the width you want and put rubber caps on the cuts.

We just picked up our 21DK, and the wife has asked about adding some shelves.
I'll probably use plywood and stain to match.
I also removed the panel inside the front cabinet and the storage now is 4X the size.
