Roof repair
We had a tree limb land on the roof or our rockwood roo19 on Thursday and it will need some repairs. Any suggestions where to take it? We are on the south side of dallas

Okay what should we expect to fix the roof. How will I know it is patched properly?

Sorry that I can't offer any idea's, but I certainly can offer an "OUCHEE!!!" response to that picture...not a pretty one, sorry for your misfortune!

I think they may be able to heat weld a patch to the existing roof but it looks to be very close to the gutter which may require some dis-assembly to make a proper repair. The other thing that could be done would be to make a patch with Etrenabond tape.

I would find out your dealers plan for fixing it. Our friends had damage from a tree as well. Not as large as yours (about 2 inches around) but all the dealer did was caulk the hole. And charged over $100 for it.
We ended up removing as much as the caulk as possible. Patched it w/ Eternabond tape and then painted the roof w/ Liquid Rubber.

Oh they will not just caulk to roof. That is not good enough. I worry because it is so close to the edge that it will be hard to patch. I should find out something today or tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice. We love our camper and I want to be able to use it for a long time

We had a similar situation this year with our 2012 21ss. The repair shop told us he could patch it or replace the entire roof. We replaced the entire roof when he said patching it is like putting a bandaid on a hand that has just been amputated. Do it right, replace the roof.

Being were it's located, not a good place to patch, I would contact insurance if you have it. If you don't I would go with the eternabond tape and attach it to the side then carefully fold over onto the top. Make sure and clean up all the damage first and make old roof material go back in position. Go all around the eternabond with dicor self leveling caulk. My old trailer had 3 limbs go through the roof last winter Insurance adjuster told me it would cost $6000 to have the roof replaced. They totaled it out and I bought it back and patched it with the eternabond, new owners are friends and had a great summer with it and no leaks yet. Biggest thing is making sure you clean things good before you apply.

Sorry to hear that, In this case I would clean the spot up good smooth the rubber out and clean it good all around the patch area. Use the dicor all over the tear itself and let it dry. When that dries put the eternabond patch over the area carefully folding it from the edge over after its down go around the edge of that with more dicor. Make the patch larger than the area you need.

The roof throughout the industry is stated as a "one piece membrane roof". Insurance should 'replace in kind 'IAW typical policies.

Had a similar hole in the house roof from a tree limb.
It could be repaired like I did the house, except I use shingles on the house of course.
I had some thin flat sheet metal from a left over project, you can buy it at Ace, Home Depot, etc.
Cut a piece of the sheet metal larger than the hole, construction adhesive it in place.
Eternabond to cover the area of the outer membrane and Dicor the edges of the eternabond.
If you dont want to use sheet metal you can use the plastic from a garage sale sign or similar.

Just be careful. Watch the dealer. I live in Ohio and ended up taking our camper back to Forest River to get fixed at 1/4 the cost and a 2 day fix time versus 6 to 8 weeks at the dealer. This was to replace the entire front with bunk.

The insurance co. should replace your roof. What insurance co. do you have? If they don't replace it like they should I would file a complaint with the state insurance board, then they will replace it. A complaint causes their rating to go down and they don't like that. LOL
