RV's Values

Man I never realized RV values depreciate so fast, I can't believe what NADA is on some 1 year old trailers. Then dealers try to inflate the prices on the used units to nearly new prices? Wow I thought the boat industry was bad, I think these things are just as bad a money pits as boats.

Not happy with CW right now and the way the whole RV industry goes. I love my Roo and camping but man this is just plain horrible.

If you are looking at values for a 2015 that is two years old. The 2017's have been out for a couple of months now.

Resale is never much . if you sale it's better to sale private then to trade in . owning an RV like a boat is not an investment but a toy to play with use and then give away

The MSRP values are highly skewed, they are pretty much set at what the dealer wants in order to make the profit he wants. NADA isn't that accurate either, it is merely a starting point or guide on where to begin. Thats why you can deal anywhere from 10-40 percent off. But just remember we all deal 30 percent off when buying new so you would assume he's going to deal 30 percent off the price hes going to list it for on a trade in or used unit. They are more lenient with popular models and floor plans if they now they can move it fast on re-sale.

Same thing with cars, depreciate as soon as you go off the lot, tade in is even worse. Sell private in both industries.

Your best bet is trying to sell it yourself....And even then a one or two year old TT is tougher sell privately unless the buyer is paying cash or will have to try and get financing and you have it attractively priced.

Hopefully you bought it for a good price let's assume 30% or more off the MSRP if you paid more then that for it things are already looking tougher to make more $$$ out of the deal as mentioned it's about two years old at this point and the warranty is probably expired..So price wise it's in the ball park of a new unit with warranty which would make any potential buyers think about. In the end it really boils down to what you are comfortable with losing X amount of $$'s on and moving on or keeping it.

agree with everything everyone is saying but CW just didn't budge, compared to other dealers. If I can't sell it Fall to Spring of 2017 I will just use it until I do sell it or find a used Montana the way I want, just not worth buying new anymore, maybe I can even find a used 2013-2015 Crusader 315rst when I am ready.

I do get the loss % wise I bought mine for a good price much less in another state then NJ, PA so I was happy, just hit the floor when he offered NADA and didn't come down on his, MSRP was $65K came down to $47K and add med in $2K for freight and prep, to ME not worth it, especially their 2017 had fiberglass issues on the door side, there was a giant bubble so not willing to spend that much and have them fix it.
