screen door latch

Didn't take long to break the Plastic latch on 23IKS.
Any replacement ideas beside the same cheap latch ?
I have seen on youtube a guy using magnets only, but before going this route would appreciate any other ideas.

I've had RVs for years, motorhomes and FWs, and most of the time the issue is not the cheap latch but that it is out of adjustment and people not using it correctly (not saying you used it incorrectly). Spend a few minutes opening and closing the screen door and exterior door. Observer how the latches interact and you will see that the adjustment is a fine line either way. I just bought a new/used Sandpiper in July and the guy was complaining about the latching. I spent about 15 minutes adjusting it and now it works great.

Check out post #5. Best solution I've seen. Unfortunately most of us aren't machinists, so having one made could be fairly pricey.

Edit: left out the link http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...tch-42451.html

Ours lasted about 2 weeks. Then we went all summer opening the screen door from the outside until we got back up to the dealer. They replaced it at n/c under warranty. We'll see how long this one holds up.

Trailer wasn't level when I broke it.
Yet the latch is very cheap so do not want to replace without exploring other options.
A few latches on E Bay look like they are made from ABS plastic which is much stronger so may go that route.
Other option is magnets .
