Seals and slide out maintenance

This is the first trailer I have owned with slide outs. After reading the new CW catalog front to back, I noticed there are lubricant sprays for on the seals and gears of the slides. Is this something I should use? How often? Is one brand better then another? Thanks, Sue

You would want to get the rubber treatment for the slide seals, as far as your gears or track get a dry lube only. You can get that at Napa Auto made by CRS. Do it at least two times per year. DO NOT USE SILICONE BASE PRODUCTS.

X2 on the rubber treatment for the slide seals. I use Aerospace 303 as a UV protectant.

To add, DO NOT USE PETROLEUM BASED PRODUCTS as well on seals! 303 as stated is the easiest to get ahold of.

Check the manuals you received with your RV regarding your slide out. I have a Lippert and the manual I received states only to use soap and water and that using lubricate could damage the mechanism

Don't know where that came from but I still would not use a lube such as WD 40 or any silicone base product, I would still just use a dry lube. or your going to attract dirt, the worst thing for a slide. But that is just me.
