+1 on the sewer solution. Been using it for years. No need to worry about maintaining a downhill slope with it, No worries about cracked or split hoses, either.

The one thing I'm not thrilled about with the Sewer Solution is that it uses 4-5 gal to drain every 10 gal according to their paperwork. So draining a 30 gal tank takes 12-15 gal of fresh water. And if you're draining it to a portable dump tank, you've got move that extra water. And if you're boondocking, it doesn't work.

If you're always a full hookups and don't mind using extra water, then you're good.

I agree with you regarding the extra water usage not being a good thing.

But, if you're boondocking, you're probably not dumping your tanks anyway (edit...unless you're using portable tanks as you mentioned)

My main concern with the sewer solution is the time it would take to properly drain/flush the system. You wouldn't get the benefit of the big initial surge of water to flush the tank. I'm sure with repeated flushing it would eventually work very well though (back to the problem of excessive water needed).

I used the one with the orange handle in the last picture without any problem. However the one I got from CW had trouble staying upright.

You can dump most of the tank with the water off and only turn the jet on if something comes down and doesn't just flow thru. That's how I've been doing it.

Sewer hose support?

Have used the Valterra sewer Hose Buddy support for several years and it works very well.

Got sick of using the slinky sewage support. Also because our bathroom tanks are near the front of the camper, a number of times I had a long way to go and sometimes uphill. I made my own this weekend. Went out to the camper to see how it would work. I think this will do alright.Click image for larger version

I only hook my hose up when the black tank is full and then only to dump and flush out the tank then the hose goes back into storage. Used to prop it up and fuss with it but there's really no need. No one does it at the dump station do they? So it's the same to me. Keeping it out of the sun is probably going to lengthen it's life and the campsite looks neater. IMHO, that is.

This makes sense to me. We're new to having a unit with sewer, so I'm sure we'll learn as we go along.
